I make phulka too but on a nonstick tawa. I don’t put the chappathi on the fire. It puffs up like a poori and is soft too😊. Also, I spread the ghee once i put the cooked chappathi into the container. So, no need to handle to hot chappathi by hand.

Yeah ! I also think atleast for 10 times whether I should prepare chappathies today or not because I feel somewhat lazy to do it. Also I prepare pulkas in the same manner. But after taking it from the flame, after keeping it in the utensil, I apply ghee immediately on the upper side of the chappathi. Ghee for the lower side of next chappathi will automatically apply from the previous one. So no need to apply ghee and rub the chappathies with each other.

If somebody helps in making rolls then no problem otherwise we have to do both rolling and making simultaneously to save time.i feel easy to cook rice and sambar compared to make chappathi as south indian.if kids ask for school lunch will prepare chappathi previous night and side dish in the morning.

Ok. I have a challenge for you. I learnt a very long time ago how to make soft phulkas while using gas cooking hobs, Right now ,in Europe where I live, the rule is that when you renovate the kitchen you can only have Induction Hob and not gas. Now I have only Induction cooking plate I tried with different kinds of "Tawas" suitable for Induction hob but the Phulkas do not budge. Could you tell me how to make the phulkas raise like pooris on the tawa itself as i do not have open flame facility anymore. When I saw your phulkas raise i wanted to grab them through the computer screen. As far as phulkas are concerned all my attempts are futile so far. Could you tell me a method by which I can circumwent this predicament and enjoy phulkas once again. Thanking you in anticipation. Bye bye,
