Living in Singapore is like never ever graduating from high school - because the government treats its citizens like they are juvenile delinquents not capable of correct social behavior without penalties. Honestly, the gum ban is one example. Gum is legal in the US (and other countries) and you don't get wads of gum stuck under public tables or on park structures etc. Sometimes the disparity in what is considered banned blows my mind - gum is banned in Singapore, while guns are allowed in the US. Boggles the mind, doesn't it?
