Sarah, you are observant 💖. Though this was the 1st time I met Puy, I did a recce and informed her of my purpose of filming her. She was happy to be filmed and I actually recorded a few bloopers in the process which I did not share. Puy is super friendly and I wish her well. She doesn’t have a long queue. Customers come constantly. She live streams almost daily and sings to to her live stream viewers later in the night when there’s not many customers. Did you hear her greet Singapore City Walks viewers in the video. That’s after she made her first roti. She’s really friendly. One more thing… wear your chicken hat will you…haha!

She greeted Singapore City Walks at 2:43 Hope you didn't miss this. She is indeed beautiful , hard working and friendly. And her roti is delicious. Her cart, like all other carts, has to be removed at night. This stretch of the pavement is re-populated by a different set of vendors in the morning. By noon the pavement is cleared again. The evening vendors come in again around 4pm. It's tough life for these vendors.

I find it extremely intriguing how they can set up a little cart / shop like that on the footpath. Do they need to be licensed? How do they reserve the same spot on the street all the time? Is there a cost / rent involved to have a spot on the footpath? Last night, I saw her menu / price board and converted it to Australian Dollars... She sells the banana egg version for about $1.95 each... She must make a few throughout the day. Good on her.... what a happy little soul.

I don't know whether they need licence to secure the same spot. If no licence needed, then the Thais have good discipline not to fight over spaces. I do know that a different set of vendors/carts set up there in the morning. They pack up and leave with their carts after lunch. Another set of vendors set up their carts here around 3 to 4pm for the evening crowd. Puy is one of the evening vendors. They have to pack up and leave the place before midnight. No stalls are allowed on the streets on Mondays, so that becomes her rest day. I'll ask her about licensing and costs when I visit Bangkok next year. She's friendly so I think she will tell me if I visit her stall in the off peak time.

Yes they need to be registered and licensed to set up and sell at food stand anywhere in Thailand, it may look a little messy seeing vendors seemingly every little spare space but I would call it organised chaos lol

I just disagree with the KZbin pushing the dressing of these street vendors! I really like the coffee lady she is on point. And puy is the best of the female street vendors. She doesn't shake herself to pose for video.

Puy and PloySai coffee lady are both very hardworking, humble and beautiful. Their dressings are different and that's their individuality. Puy gladly obliged when I informed that I would like to film her. PloySai was sick for the few days that I was in Bangkok so I did not get to film her. Their daily routines (except Mondays - compulsory rest day) are very tiring. Their stalls close whenever they visit their hometowns or go travelling. I hope they can open shops and hire good people to run their business. I wish them well.

@@SingaporeCityWalks Roti looks almost like a crepe but it isn't. The woman is a happy little character.... someone must help her during the day for a break here and there to answer the call of nature ... and have something herself to eat.

@@andrewsmith8729 In Singapore, we call this Roti Prata. Our version is very different and we eat it with curries. I have seen her in a video, cooking a noodle dinner for herself using a neighbouring stall's facilities. The people there have some form of camaraderie.
