Canal Taxi Boat rides in Bangkok are cheap and fast. Join me for a boat ride from Pratunam Pier (Interchange) to Phanfa Leelard Pier. From Phanfa Leelard, you can walk to Golden Mount, Giant Swing and Old Town. That will be covered in future videos. Along the canal, you will see beautiful graffiti art, bridges and local homes. Just remember to keep your ticket while transferring from the Eastern route to the Western one. You don't have to buy a second ticket!

How do you know when you have arrived at your intended stop/pier? Do they announce it?

My destination was Phanfa - the last stop where everybody has to get out. I wouldn't know where to get off if I were to get off mid way. From Phanfa I walked to the Golden Mount, Giant Swing and the Old Town.

Yes it was smelly at some stretches of the canal. The water is severely polluted.

What is the best idea to replace that transparent plastic screen. It also ruin the view esp those who r recording n snapping pics throughout the historic water routes

They need to use plastic screens because the canal waters are polluted and black in colour. It will splash when boats pass each other. It's also for keeping out the rain. The operators should replace the screens periodically but would they? I don't think so. These are fast and cheap transport for locals. The best way to take pictures is to stand at the entry and exit point with the agreement of the boat conductor.
