Excellent job! I have a 107G1, basically the same machine just made in Germany. These things are beyond bullet proof. I put a servo motor on mine and slowed down the pulleys, now it is just wonderful for working with leather. I put a new timing belt in mine, took about 45 minutes, the dealer told me it would be cheaper to buy a new machine. The belt was 17 dollars and I lost 45 minutes, I'm glad I didn't buy a new machine! Keep up the good work, it's a real pleasure seeing people put time into old machines, it's worth the effort because these things last forever if well taken care of.

$17.00??? I have 2 and put belts on both at a cost of about $115 per each!!!! I did try a rubber belt ($22.00) but it was so lousy that I switched to a cloth belt. Glad I did. One machine the cloth belt lasted over 100 years!!! I can run either machine on a treadle but have servo's on them and they are great.

I know this is a old video but my 107 is doing the same thing, not stitching straight it has a very slight zig zag to it. Thanks for this video and information. Much appreciated 👍🏻

do you have a video of the stitch length knob, I have a 107w1 and the knob does not move freely also i dont understand the higher numbers on it
@thesergeant35248 жыл бұрын
The stitch length knob operates in a very similar way. You can totally unscrew the knob and lubricate the threads. The higher the number the more stitches per inch. Eventually you'll to get a point where you're at 0

Could you do a video on setting the hook and needle timing. I have two of these and I’m having issues.

Thanks for another great video! You're like an encyclopedia when it comes to the mechanics of these vintage industrials, where did you learn all of this?!? I'd like to be able to do more than thread my machines (and sew with them!).
@thesergeant35248 жыл бұрын
+thejasonofalltrades Thanks! I'm self taught and learned mainly from just tearing them down and trying to put them back together. After a dozen or so machines I started to see the similarities in design elements and got to the point where I felt comfortable tearing any machine apart and putting it back together. Just takes some time I guess. Thanks for watching!
