Thamk ypu for this video. Some people are asking about replacing their 107w machines because of wear or lack or replacement parts. Look at the Singer 143w series! I have a 143w3 that appears to be the same as this 107w model. You will need to determine if presser foot clearance is big enough for your needs. Good luck!

Hello Sir , I just bought a Singer 107G253, it’s a cylinder arm machine . It’s sister is the 107G201 model. Been watching your great info vids for awhile. My machine looks similar to ur 107w, I’m new to this stuff but is there a certain way to adjust stitch length ? My hand wheel was bound up with thread , removed so not I got that stitch knob to move but does not seem to change. Notice my hand wheel has a triangle stamp on it, not sure if that’s supposed to be in certain position to adjust stitch length? If possible could I send u pics via email, for some advice? Thanks Wayne

I have a 107w1 singer as well. I'm looking for the screw for the needle, and need a needle guide as well. Would you gave any idea where I could purchase them?!

Hello, when you turn the zigzag dial on the front clockwise, does your dial eventually unscrew? Mine seems to turn and then all of sudden feels like the dial is coming undone. Is that normal?

Does this make satin stitches?

Hi. I have the same machine, and if I do not use it, I do not remember how to thread it. Swallow the top thread without raising the bottom one. What can be?

I bought a machine of these, it sews well but what happens is that the stitch does not make long the stitch is lacquered in the number 8 and I cannot make it longer, I can do

I have this machine and have love it! But after having issues with it and spending a hefty amount on getting it professionally serviced, it still isn't sewing great. Someone else I contacted by phone said the gears wear down and you can't find parts and I should get a newer machine. Question. Is this true? Is it time to retire? I've used it for over 23 years commercially with my Dad and he passed this year. So I'm beyond sad that our machine we've babied is also going. But I have watched your other videos (I have 2 Brothers you've spoken about - single needle and dble needle version and learned a lot from your videos thank you!!) and trust your judgement.

It's possible the gears are worn but I find it a little hard to believe. What are the issues you're having?

Every 10-15 stitches (give or take), it skips straight. And the top looks tolerable, but the bottom never quite looks quite right. Almost a sad triangle. I do use a heavy thread (Tenara 92 equivalent and the like) and run a 13/16 wide acrylic braid thru a feeder for valance edges on awnings on Sunbrella fabrics. So I have made her word hard over the years bless her. When it was serviced and repairman thought he had fixed it, he was using this reed thin, clear filament thread that I could break with ease.

@@CustomCanvasCo: If the gears ARE the problem, and Singer no longer has these gears, you can probably pick up another 107 for parts. I paid $125 for the last one I bought. (Come to think of it, if I give up on my older machine, I suppose I could part it out... I dunno how to contact you without putting my info all over the web, but I'll try to check back here for a response.)

Man you have seen the light falling into your lap. :-) It looks so cool like and old Bugatti. I love that diagonal gear shaft. Do you fix cars also? :-) With the way you explain your actions I'd like to learn that also! How many machines do you have? Admit is it is an addiction like classic cars, right?
