I would suggest using a steady tripod while recording. The constant motion of the video camera feels like being on an unsteady boat. Just my opinion.... Thanks.

yes I agree.... these videos would be far more interesting if you use a tripod

I'm enjoying the information you have on restoring these old machines. The recommendations and ideas are great for the beginner as well as the seasoned restorer. Unfortunately the bouncing of the camera and rapid movement makes it hard to focus on what you are talking about. Just a suggestion, put the camera on a tripod and film the majority of the video with out moving the camera. Then move in closer with maybe a mini-tripod for the closeups. There are plenty of free and easy to use editing programs, come to think of it KZbin has their own, you can use to edit the closeups into the main video.

I enjoy the content here and your narrative on the video; however, as others have said, a tripod or helper would make this a great video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I have a 115, and a 15-91. The bobbin case in the video matches my 15-91, not my 115. They are quite different.

I know this video was from a few years ago, but it would be so much easier to watch if it had been filmed using a tripod. I'm trying to watch it, but feeling a little motion sick.

Watching this is a struggle. I'm having a problem finding the restoration part of this series, and even finding the series. Maybe a playlist would be better.

Interesting that this has a round bobbin, similar to recent machines, while many of my old machines, including the a Singer treadle i learned on have the boat Shula and spool bobbin.

Thank you for the information, I was able to get the machine working, though I couldn’t unscrew many parts.

Well, I made it to 9:50. Sea sick, from all the bouncing around. Might want to invest in a tripod.

please put the camera on a tripod. I'm getting seasick from all the moving around.

Does anyone know where I can look up my serial number for my Bernina 117 K? I think it's just that the 1st 2 numbers are the year it was born and the last are probably the number of issue. If that's all there is to it, I got it but was hoping it might yield some more info about it. Thanks for posting, Vintage Sewing Machine Garage. Love the name.

what's the differences between this one and the 15-91?
@VintageSewingMachineGarage6 жыл бұрын
This was made many years earlier than the 15-91 and this one was set up as a treadle machine.

Hello. I enjoy watching your videos very much. I learn a lot from your clear explanations. Sadly, I have yet to know your name. The quality of your work impresses me very much. I have a Singer 15 made in 1921 according to the serial number G8647960. I do not yet feel qualified or comfortable restoring this machine. The motor runs, but it needs a new belt. I would like to restore its exterior beauty as much as possible. The finish is dull and the chrome parts have some rust. I do not know if it may need rewiring or other internal work, but it probably needs a good cleaning, lubrication, and oiling. I would like to know if you take on such jobs. If not, do you know of anyone else who I might ask to help me. Local sewing machine shops are not interested in doing any cosmetic work whatsoever. I’d appreciate any help or direction you could provide for this machine, which has been in the family for several generations. I would really like for you to accept my Singer 15 to restore it, so I can learn more from you. Thank you, Michael
