Thank you so much. That is very kind. Yes, unfortunately I have been ill. I am having respiratory issues and have essentially lost my voice for over 3 months now. I couldn't take not posting videos any longer so I opted for a "voice-over" style approach since I cannot speak more than one short sentence at a time before losing breath. I hope it was not too distracting. I really wanted to share this beautiful machine and the process we went through with it. Thanks again for the well wishes. It really means a lot! hi. I recently got the same machine. I had to clean it up as it had an odor. She is now one of my favorites here. Thanks for sharing your experience. Wow. That hook break is a costly one. I have had to replace a hook or two. Stay well.

the coating of the oil over the machine do you clean it off before sewing it or does it dissipate eventurally.

Great question! On the older vintage machines (like a Singer 66, 99, 201, 221...) the oil more soaks into the finish. This machine being from the 1950s, it has more of a painted finish so the oil doesn't tend to dissipate off of the surface as quickly. Either way, once you are done cleaning the surface with the machine oil, you will want to take clean/dry cotton pads and remove any excess oil from the surface. What is left behind will not hinder your sewing process. Thanks for watching!
