it was one of my favorites. And everytime it shows Kirstie say "do you think I'm pretty" I always say to myself yes. Every single time. lol

I am speaking to the filmmaker side of you... Scott just today released his first ever solo single w/ music video. I know you will be majorly blown away by the video. Of course you expect the vocals & music to be top quality bcoz, well - Scott from Ptx!!! No words needed. But the quality of the video is beyond what you could even dream! I do hope you will react to it, as I'd love to see your face light up with pure joy!!! 😉.

Have a look at their original 'Love Again' if you want to see some amazing vocal percussion from Kevin. Among the greatest rhythm sections I think Kaplan/Olusola are up there with McVie/Fleetwood, Jones/Bonham, Deacon/Taylor or Wyman/Wattts. Avi's solo work is well worth your time. His 'Change on the Rise' is amazing both for sound and cinematography. Please check out his music.

Scott just released his debut solo single "Mars" - you should definitely check it out. (to be clear, he's not leaving PTX) It's a beautiful video and song - both very different from the PTX style. As a filmmaker, I'm sure you'll appreciate the video.

That is so true with a lot of their songs, they are better than the originals. They don't do covers, they do upgrades!

I took a quick look at your videos and didn’t see any reactions to Superfruit, a side project by Scott and Mitch for a couple of years. For storytelling, you might want to watch Guy.Exe and Future Friends, both original songs by the pair and good videos to go with them. A favorite of mine is Imaginary Parties, but it’s not a linear story. Loved this reaction! Peace from Ohio …

This is probably this tightest harmonies I’ve heard from Pentatonix. They are dead on with each other.

As a filmmaker, you'd undoubtedly appreciate Avi's solo videos. He's tended to be very cinematic in his videos, and my main suggestions would be "Change on the Rise" and "Otherside" from 2019, and "I'm Only Getting Started" from 2022. Well worth reacting to.

Imagine how Kevin hears the world: sounds and beats every where. And then runs them through his "Kevinater" for us. Beautiful and unexpected as always! I always laugh at the very begining because that sound of the door to the gym closing takes me right back to high school. (Noooooo!)

Kevin is such a beautiful soul to listen to. And like you said, the sounds he can make with his mouth are impressive.

Nice review Jeff. Glad you reacted Pentatonix again. I'd be curious about your videography reactions to PTX's "The Wizard of Ahhhs" and "My Favorite Things". Pentatonix have been getting a little more theatrical with their music videos and these two are good examples. Any plans to react to Superfruit and Avi Kaplan?

Hi John! It's great to hear from you! I'll definitely be sure to check out all of those suggested ideas eventually. I'm always happy to react to new types of content.

You should add their 2021 song "Over the River" featuring Lindsey Stirling to that list. The official video is amazing, but so also is the live version filmed professionally as part of "The Evergreen Experience". The lead-up to it by Matt & Kevin playing drum & cello is breathtaking! I think it is just called Drum & Cello solo. (??) I was actually THERE AT THAT SHOW - FRONT ROW!!! That concert was the experience of a lifetime for me. I had no idea it was being filmed to be used as their inline virtual concert. When I saw the video, it was surreal to keep seeing myself & my daughter standing by the stage, clapping & cheering. We must have been in that video 30+ times, as they kept showing that area of the stage at the end of the catwalk. WOW!!! I hope they will release the concert on dvd so I can buy it!!!

I was checking to see if you've done their more recent ones, they have a few leading up to Christmas last year. I love your reactions so I'm pleased to see you back.

Oh, am I so glad you have finally gotten back to PTX! This is one of my favorites of their earlier pieces. Oh, and you have so very many more of theirs to do, many of which are not repetitive at all. You've only done 26 songs. There are more than 180 in total available to you. Another early one that you have not done is an original "Sing". And you can't miss their version of "Imagine", which is just stunning.

Nice to see you again señor!!! They can make a simple Didi like CHEERLEADER stand out and make you like the song again. Their team together with them produce excellence and magic at the same time. BTW Scott just came in with a single released today. Is his original composition and the filmography is quite impressive. Is called "Mars"

I'm glad you took a break too. I've really can't blame reactors for doing a deep dive and reacting to lots and lots and lots of pentatonic, but I find myself having to take a break from them after some unknown number, because it begins to seem stale. Quirky reactions are no longer quirky to watch, their amazement begin to sound contrived. Even those who, like you, remark on technical elements instead of just looking wow-ed and bug-eyed, can begin to sound repetitive and I zone out like it's 5th period social studies. I'm pleased to only see you react when you are in a place to feel fresh toward them. I am subscribed to just about everyone who ever reacted to them (or Paolo Nutini, I don't know which of them brought me here originally, but he finally released a new album a couple months ago, and a reaction to anything from that would be welcome, hint hint)(please, no Iron Sky from the last album. it's great, but over done by reactors) but the truth I've been travelling and not keeping up with KZbin so today I found your video on a search for pentatonic reactions, sorted by date, so I could just watch the newest and then get back to unpacking and laundry.
@JeffreyHackReacts2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! Yeah, as a reactor I like to keep my reactions genuine and truthful rather than just putting on a show and trying to make everyone happy. Reactions are more interesting when you hear someone else's legitimate thought on a particular song that could be different than yours. I'm glad you've been enjoying my PTX reactions!

Interesting perspective. A dolly makes sense for the camera. This song never really did much for me. Pentatonix changing up the video to make it in their usual wholesome style was clever. For cinematic videos you need to try Avi Kaplan's solo work. He's even got 2 in very different styles of animation by Mertcan Mertbilek. "Fields and Pier" was his first solo video I believe while still with Pentatonix and "Change On the Rise" is the most dramatic. Avi has been a visual artist as well and it gives him a good eye for composition. A good walk about one is his "I'll Get By".

Either a dolly or a Gimbal. One or the other I think 😁
