Thank you so much! I'm new to sewing and I was having a hard time figuring it out especially since my sewing machine didn't come with any directions. Every other KZbin video I've watched either they just assumed that you already know some stuff, or they're very detailed but the camera is blurry or just an inch too far to the left so you can't actually see what they're doing. Your videos are clear, your voice is clear, the instructions are clear, you're amazing! Again thank you so much! Please keep making videos :-)

Tell me how to stop the thread from gathering the fabric as you sew. The top thread seems to be tight, but the bobbin thread is extremely loose. I have tried every adjustment I can think of. And the thread, under the presser foot plate, will gather numerous stitches underneath the metal plate and stop the needle from moving up, or down. You have to cut the Matted up thread under the metal plate, to remove the mass of bundled thread. Then you can not get it to stitch correctly. The tension on both top seems to be to tight and the bottom bobbin thread is way to loose, with No way to adjust the tention. I have sewed for 65 years. My first Kenmore sewing machine bobbin had a casing that had a screw tention to adjust the tention on the bobbin thread. I wore the Kenmore out. But there is nothing like that on this singer 3220 machine. I had another singer.. that had plastic parts that broke within a short time of using. I believe this 3220 Singer has the same problem.

Ugh! I'm so sorry you're having problems! There's an upper tension dial on the top (just above the red S). It must be the upper thread tension that's off. The feed dogs are trying to move the fabric through, but the thread is too tight and won't let it go. I would Unthread everything, and thread again. It could be caught wrong in the tension discs. Make sure you have the presser foot up with loading the thread. I would also try another brand of thread. As crazy as it sounds, I have a couple of machines that simply hate certain brands of thread. I hope this helps!

I cannot for the life of me get this thing to sew a straight stich and I have tried everything under the sun including rethreading the machine dozens of times. Gone through all nine tension settings as well as stitch lengths. I have used an entire spool of thread and no matter what I do the stich is wavy or the underside of the stich is all over the place. All the other stiches seem to work fine but the straight stich just will not work. Faulty machine? Or am I missing something?

Your videos are very informative. I'm thinking of getting this model as my first machine. I will want to add to it a raw edge single fold guide. Is there room on this machine? Thank you for your time.

Oh, I think the guide will fit nicely! Thanks for watching!
