I have a machine exactly like this but a different brand it is a FHSM-505 but instructions say insert the bobbin with the thread spinning off clockwise. I am confused this seems to be opposite, is it the same model?

This video literally does not show how the bobbin thread gets under the deck if 4 inches of it hanging over the dge facing you. Thread doesn't magically move on its own. The bobbin thread has to be inserted or wrapped around something for the needle to pick it up and drag it through the machine. I watched this video more than once. It's useless.
