This was so moving. I feel like he was saying goodbye to his fans because he knew his prognoses wasn't good. Rip Tobey you were a great singer with a big heart. 💗💗❣💞💕

I saw tears in his eyes when he was getting to the end of the song. I think this was his plan, to go out on his own terms. RIP to a fantastic person who just happened to be a really great singer. He did charity work for kids with cancer long before he was diagnosed. Sadly, he got a first hand knowledge of what the little kids go through.

I couldn't sleep this morning and I saw this on the early news. It broke my heart . Toby is in Heaven now with Jesus. I love his music. He is a legend. Rest in peace Toby. We all love you 💔🥰

This is so sad. It was an inspiring and energetic performance that had me convinced he was gonna beat cancer. Looking back, with the reaction of his wife and how moved he seemed, I think this was Toby's goodbye to his fans. I've been a huge Toby fan since I was 10 in 1993 when he debuted. This one hit me really hard because cancer runs in my family and it was heroic to me how hard Toby fought cancer. RIP Big Dog I'll miss you.

Was heartbroken to hear this news this morning. I saw him in concert 8 times and was hoping I would be able to see him again. RIP Toby I know you are singing with the angels now.😢

This song was written for Clint Eastwood & the movie The Mule. Now it takes on a whole new meaning!! 😢

This song was inspired by something Clint Eastwood said to Toby when they were partnered together in a celebrity golf tournament back in 2017.. Toby had heard Clint mention to someone that he was turning 88(back in '17), so as they were riding in their shared gold cart Toby asked Clint, "Whatya gonna do for your birthday?" Clint answered, "I'm going to Georgia to shoot a new movie called "The Mule"'. Marveling at Clint's energy, stamina & zeal for life, Toby replied, .."What do you do to keep yourself going?!" to which Clint Eastwood said, "Each day I try to get up, go outside and be productive.. don't let the Old Man in." Well, Toby thought that was so profound, and he said he Knew he had to make that into a song! It just stuck in his mind, wouldn't let him go until he had finally worked out the full lyrics that centered around that main idea of Clint's words.. After some time, Toby came up with this simple but oh-so-wise and beautiful song, "Don't Let The Old Man In". 💖 The first thing he did was send a demo tape of it, with the lyrics, to thank Clint, and credit him for the inspiration.. Within half an hour of listening to the song Clint called him up and said he(Toby) couldn't have known when writing it, but the lyrics were absolutely perfect for his film, "The Mule"; Clint had a special spot in the movie in mind to place the song, though it ended up being played at the end during the credits. Speaking for myself, I've found the closing song, played during the end credits, to be particularly moving, and leaving me with a poignant, impactful sense of the movie, and that feeling(and song) stay with me long after I've left the theater! R.I.P. Big Dog - your music, your contributions to the world and to our Country, in particular, along with your big heart.. will stay with us Long after you've too early left us ~ Now you can sing your heart out with the angels, in the presence of our Lord whom you loved so much your whole life! We'll miss you! 💖🎸🎶🌫️🕊️

Saw him open for Chris LeDeux in the Rushmore center Rapid City South Dakota, the best of the concerts I've ever been to. Thank you for the tribute friend 😊

Lived this philosophy, many years before this song.l almost died 48 years ago,l just turned 72 and get up every day and do something to make a difference as well as working a full time job..Rest in Peace Toby, sing it in heaven...❤❤❤

That last verse, the man rides up on his horse and you feel that cold wind.... It brings to mind Clint Eastwood's movie "Pale Rider" when He rides up on a pale horse and on that horse sat Death.... Knowing Toby was aware that that rider was drawing nearer every day is heartbreaking. That's one ride we are all destined to take...

I loved him since Shoulda Been A Cowboy and i was 14 im 45 now . Ive never been hurt as bad losing a singer / famous person 😔 💔 i had a tattoo done in his memory. Red solo cup with his name and date he passed inside the cup with angel wings red white and blue and under it is says i aint as good as I once was but im as good once as I ever was❤ my hearts broken 😢 i will always love you Toby Keith 💙

I'll never forget watching this, hearing him sing what seemed like his goodbye to his fans. Just sat there and cried but kept playing it over and over. It was so beautiful and sad all at the same time. You'll be sorely missed Toby but thankful your pain is over. Thank you for the music and memories cowboy, now go partner up with your old friend Wayman and serenade the angels!

Saw in interview he did literally weeks ago and he didn’t say he only had weeks…he stayed positive because he knows many others in his situation would watch that and he wanted them to have hope, wonderful man

Brad Steele, I was wondering who wrote the end song on this video reaction; and I'm guessing that that's You singing it? Wow!! What a powerful, Beautiful song! And so encouraging, comforting.. esp. in times when we're feeling down, like at this moment as we have to say goodbye to another singer and wonderful oerson we've come to love! And if that is you singing?? You, sir, have real talent, such a beautiful voice; I'd love to purchase that song. 💖🎶
