Alright... No lie you had me hitting the sub button THREE seconds in! All it took was "Hey motherf**kers, and welcome" I hit the pause button to take a second to replay in my head what I thought I heard to make sure I really heard what I heard. Then when I realized I heard an intro to a video that sounded EXACTLY how me and my friends all greet each other I hit the Follow button. I didn't even care if after I restarted the video if you hated this song and trashed it, I was staying subbed just for that amazing greeting haha. I knew you would love this video and song, but still in a world where every KZbin personality and reactor spews the same happy sappy video speech that's all rehearsed and faked, a simple "Hey motherf**kers, and welcome" is the realest thing I've heard anyone say in here in long time! Haha And Toasting? Totally learned something new in the music world and I'm blown away. Another thing I need to look into!

I liked the note about the Bulgarian choir in Ren's song. They are indeed spectacular harmonic constructions and vocal arrangements. Also spectacular are the "Tenore de Orosei" and "Tenores Di Bitti"... if you don't know them, take a look at them - I think you'll like them! How fantastic it is that an Artist (in capital letters, as he is) like Ren, in addition to everything else that constitutes him and that he gives us through his music, can also make us wander through so many other places and cultures, music and genres. Thanks for the reaction. P.S. Forgive my English... blame google translator.

I'm a Christian and conservative at that. I can guess our ideology, beliefs and values are probably polar opposites. Yet we do have something in common and that is "Ren", I also love him and his music. I have children his age and feel very protective of him, like a maternal instinct. I fully enjoyed your break down and I definitely learned somethings I never knew. You are very knowledgeable on these subjects and that makes you a great reactor, much better than the average for sure. It has been a pleasure listening to you and your reaction to " Sick Boi". I would love to see you do a reaction to "Seven Sins" . It is one of my favorites on the sick boi album. Our poor boy gives us a peek into his mind and how bad the pain is. It makes me cry like many of his other songs he has made over the years. Thank you.

I’ma Christian too. My Dad was a pastor for many years before becoming a professor of philosophy a at a works renowned Christian grad school. My parents are much more conservative than I. And yet they have always supported trans people and our family now fully supports my trans nephew. Christianity does not condemn anyone for being who they are; who God crates then to be. Not all Christians believe a trans person must have polar opposite views and values. It’s good that you found one commonality, but I know you would find many more of you looked.

This is the thing I wish more people would do in this world. Realize we have different backgrounds, ideals, beliefs everything and we are all NEVER going to 100% agree on everything. But that's what makes humans great is we are NOT the same, no two humans are alike, even twins have differences that make them only one of and let's start respecting each other's differences and stop thinking that everyone is our enemy. We have more in common with each other than we don't. And if something horrible happens where the government is no more it's going to be each other regardless of ANY difference that has to help each other. Cause no government agencies that steal our paychecks and call it "taxes" is ever going to be there when it hits the fan. There's a reason they're doing everything they can to get rich. They'll be safe in their gated communities with security while we truly have to rely on each other to survive. So many people will be disappointed that they wasted so many precious years hating their neighbors over politics instead of getting to know and love their neighbor.

@@SabiWhitefluff-fc5od Christianity does not condemn anyone for being who they are. Erm? I guess you gonna believe what you wanna believe?
@SabiWhitefluff-fc5od Жыл бұрын
Ah yes, I misspoke. Christianity; the Christians themselves, will condemn anyone for anything a bit different. But God and true Christianity that studies and follows the teachings of Christ, do not condemn anyone for being who they are; who God created them to be. Sadly most Christians don’t understand the complexities of translations through multiple languages and across vastly different cultures and time periods, and how to read, study and follow God’s teachings in the Bible with that in mind.

@@SabiWhitefluff-fc5od There's also the fact that there are certain expressions that have lost their meaning or understanding through time that can affect interpretation. I heard a great example, in 2000 years, will people know the difference between what we called a butt dial versus a booty call? It's all about context in the time it was written.

Fantastic reaction! Just before you pointed out that I was taking the breaths in and out, I realized I was doing it. Every time it gets me. I love that you noted that! Also, the fact that each song and video takes us one step higher, one step more to where we think THIS time his true genius has shown itself. And then the next one is even better. I'm waiting for him to come back down, but I think he is also a genius at knowing what to release when to build his power and mystique. He's amazing, isn't he? I'm 62 years old and I've seen and heard a lot, but I've never encountered a talent like Ren. I feel blessed to be alive when he is. Saying that makes me sound like a crazy fanatic, and maybe I am, but we are legion. Another Ren reactor I had to subscribe to, thanks!

Really excellent reaction; I love to learn things and I learned a lot from you just now! So many reactions are all the same with very limited knowledge, just emotional response. While I’m an extremely emotional person, I have that side covered; I’m looking to reactions for something new and intriguing and found it here in droves. Thank you! By the way, my nephew is trans and while things are going pretty smoothly for him now, I worry as he goes to high school next year, and when he interacts with the world outside the safe places he’s carved out for himself. I wish I could change the world for him. I wish you all the best, and thank you for this really excellent reaction!

This is the first of your reactions I've seen. A more than respectable job. I've watched literally hundreds of reactions to Ren's music, and that of his circle of friends: Sam Tompkins, The Big Push, and Chinchilla, among other. And your reaction here is one of the most informative and perceptive, especially since it's not a long song. New subscriber now and looking forward to seeing more of your reactions. A member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, and I agree with you about the treatment of Trans people. It's especially unfortunate that they're targeted for political gain by some politicians. Thanks Alexandra, great reaction. I'm a new subscriber. I'm told the Bulgarian song in the background is called Bre Petrunko, and the sample has been used in various other popular songs. It's so beautiful. Thanks for playing the (French) Bulgarian song. It's very beautiful. I love it because of the drone note, and the close intervals and interesting rhythms. Ren actually didn't create the beat for this one, it's a modified version of "ЯГА" (YAGA) (2021) by KUJO. He has mentioned before that he's fascinated by different scales to our Western ones, so I guess that's why he picked it. As far as I can tell he made the beat for Sick Boi 2, and that one starts with a Finnish choir to mirror this one. I would guess it's more an expression of PTSD rather than ADHD, because at the 39 second mark of the video there is a quick flash of the pig slitting his throat spliced in for just a frame or two. That, and the patronising, gaslighting attitude of the psychiatrist figure. I never heard of toasting before but what you say makes total sense. Wow, that's totally true about the art of escalation. I don't know how I didn't notice that pitch change before. I don't know how many times I've listened to this song, but it's a lot. Sorry people can be shite. Keep being you x
@francesdoll4039 Жыл бұрын
Just a bit of info for you. Ren has both adhd AND PTSD from having continued contact with doctors like this. So hw isn't acting reallt, though he US a great actor, he says that he us saying all the things he wished he could say back then to all the doctors who told him he was crazy, when he was actually sick.
@KittyInTheGarden Жыл бұрын
I think you can still call it acting in the sense that he has to put himself in that feeling even if it's not what he is naturally feeling in the moment.
@jeanwyenberg277411 ай бұрын
Yes, he is pulling from his personal experiences....but not everyone could do it as well. Most couldn't. And if you look at the Tales....those are not his personal experiences but his acting is brilliant throughout. He embodies the characters that he is playing. As with most of the things he does so well, he has not had training...it is just another in his long list of talents.

Wow. I absolutely love your style of reaction and analysis. There are few who can do this properly that makes the reaction super interesting. Subscribed. I can't wait to see more of your work, especially anything REN. The Pig I believe generally represents 'the system', whatever that system may be. The system is the general oppressor In this song the oppressor is the healthcare system. Ren was bitten by a tic and misdiagnosed for many years. Ultimately he was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. By then it had set in hard in his body and was not eradicated by usual methods. In 'Money Game' Ren uses the imagery of a bag over the heads of all individuals to represent the system and oppression of the money game we all are playing. Ren does not have a bag on his head becasue he is orchestrating the money game.

Free everyone 😢 I have no love or hate for Israel Settlement of land by often not nice people and many other things are dreadful. To reach a place for everyone. First they all need to look at truths that seem ignored. Bear with me on this and don't get angry. When Palastine was 1 place, the Jews were 1/3 of the Palestinians. I know many have moved there but the Jews didn't fall from the sky... they are the Palestinians as much as any Christian or Muslim. It frustrates me when important things arent part of a conversation that must happen if people are to live with each other. For a long time the Jews had been lets say bullied and thats often used as a flimsy reason for many piss poor acts they've done. The same is true the other way around and it's this lack of conversation over these many years that has led to where they are. People must stop ignoring facts that are inconvenient to the advancment of either sides cause and talk openly about the ill's of their own side I've always believed openly admitting your own wrongs and inconvenient truths that hurt your own argument is the best place to start to buil that road we all need built ❤❤
