"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius.

Fun reaction! The one chilling in the back you were talking about is Siyeon, the main vocalist. She hangs out during that part because she is the one belting out that crazy high note in the background. Allowing her to focus more on that instead of the choreo. Huang Sooyeon is their Performance Director and she is a brilliant choreographer. She has her own dance troupe and often dances backup for Dreamcatcher as well as for other artists. Korean words never end in a hard consonant so with English words that do, they will add an 'e' or if the word has a silent 'e' they will pronounce it. In other parts of the song the girls are pronouncing Bon Voyage correctly, but where they aren't it's because the music demands that the 'e' be pronounced. I think this was deliberate because the composer (Ollounder) wanted that sound.

Welcome to Dreamcatcher! You’re only just at the tip of the iceberg.. get ready to be blown away over and over and over again. Best discography in Kpop hands down. Plus they sing live (and all of them SLAY vocals), their choreographies are complex, the members are GORGEOUS and really have exquisite stage presence. Offstage they are absolute chaotic unfiltered goofballs so there is personality for daaaays, and because they are 20s/30s age wise they don’t hold back on anything 😂 If you enjoy a good underdog story, Dreamcatcher is that group .. they faced so much uncertainty and hardship to now being a group that has gained so much respect and a growing fandom over 7 years into their time as DC. As a fun aside, French singers themselves often pronounce the usually silent "e" at the end of words if they need an extra syllable to fill a certain rhythm in a song. :D Hispanic singers from Puerto Rico and Colombia for example often rhyme words that technically end differently by leaving off the "s" ending to one of them since the Puerto Rican and Colombian accents themselves often silence or drown out the "s" sound in spoken Spanish. Fitting language into music is so fascinating!

In the ending of many songs, Siyeon doesn't dance with the others, but sidesteps and makes insane adlibs or belts, before joining the others. This is something of a Dreamcatcher trademark. This is done because Dreamcatcher really sing live on shows and you can't make high notes while doing a dance routine. The creature is called Celly, which helps the Goddesses to clear up Earth after the ecological destruction in Maison and the war in Vision. "Bon Voyagi" is the Korean way of saying Bon Voyage. They obviously chose it because it sounds better when saying it fast in the bombastic song ending. In the beginning they clearly say "Bon Voyage", so this is a choice.

I first of all would love more Dreamcatcher, Boca and You and I would be my favourite picks. If you like this, you might like Rolling Quartz, a korean band. All girls, but not an idol girl group. They also have metal/rock vibe, which is rare in Korea as it's not that popular over there (maybe sounds Japanese to them?). That Bon Voya-jeh comes from the Korean spelling of the French words. It becomes an extra syllable at the end -즈, which has the 'j' sound but without a vowel, kind of. I'm not Korean, but I do study it a bit, and I may be wrong, haha, but that is my understanding.

LOL no surprise they made your jaw drop! Dreamcatcher is amazing! You could really go anywhere next because their whole discography is incredible, but my personal votes would be for BEcause, Reason, or OOTD. Because is a really unique stand-alone with a summer horror concept and I think you’d find it really interesting musically; Reason is their 6th anniversary fan song and gives you a little bit of an intro into their story and the relationship they have with their fandom; and OOTD is their most recent title track, also with a very unique sound!

Dreamcatcher was known as a group called "MINX" and it was composed of 5 members : Jiu, Dami, Yoohyeon, SuA and Siyeon. The concept was bubbly (I like bubbly concept). MINX debuted in 2014 with 'Why Did You Come To My Home?' [MV]. But they rebranded it to "Dreamcatcher" and debuted as a 7 member group : Jiu (Leader), Yoohyeon, Dami, Handong (She wasn’t a MINX member), Gahyeon (Maknae) (She wasn’t a MINX member), Siyeon and SuA. Dreamcatcher has been known for their dark concept (I like dark concept too). Dreamcatcher debuted in 2017 with 'Chase Me' MV.

Glad i was right about you liking Bon Voyage :) its such a good song. The girl chilling in the back is the one doing the high note, A lot of times the choreo will adjust for that kind of thing because they sing live at concerts. Their main choreographer actually has an interesting story as well. She was a trainee with the same company, left before debuting as an idol, and eventually came back as their choreographer. Her name is Hwang Sooyeon and there are a couple interviews with her on youtube that are pretty interesting. She also released a solo song in fall of last year.

​@@AlexSinclairMusicIt might be a little early for this, but if you are at all interested in a recording of them performing live, I highly recommend the video "Dreamcatcher at Primavera Sound 2022" it's a really good official recording uploaded by the festival and because there is an audience they really put all their energy into it (which is why I recommend it over the covid era digital concerts). Recorded live performances aren't everyone's thing but still worth sharing imo just in case

I would love to see you reacting to those! I think "Rising" is basically full metal and I love it so much. I would say "Shatter" is experimental alongside "Demian", both have some crazy composition. But "Propose" also has a change in tempo (it slows down and has an extra 2/4 bar before the chorus, which leaves you hanging and creates and interesting feeling)
