The thing with the variants is: most of the time each season, the protagonist don't know the power of the main villain. So when the power in question is revealed in the series, the OP also changes and the villain kind of invades the OP using theirs powers. Kind of a rough explanation but it's basically it, and that's why when you're watching JJBA you never skip the intro haha

In total there are 8 parts of the manga (9 is ongoing), only parts 1-6 are adapted into an anime currently. Each part has a different cast of characters and story. Highly recommend you watch it, it's super unique and I love it!

Well, JJBA is a multipart series chronicling the adventures of the Joestars and their descendants. Part one, late 1800s, Jojo 1 and his newly minted stepbrother feud over the family fortune, which turns into a vampire hunt. Part 2, close to WW2, Grandson of the first Jojo teams up with the German Reich of all organizations to save the world from creatures that eat vampires and are trying to become immortal and invincible gods(the vampire eating creatures, I mean). In 1999, Part 4 goes to a specific city in Japan as the Jojo from Part 2 had been unfaithful on a business trip, leading to an illegitimate heir to find, make the main character, and discuss his share of the inheritance with. Meanwhile, there is a killer on the loose with a female hand fetish and has gotten away with it for over 18 years. Part 5, early 2000s, looks at the literal lovechild of the Jojo and vampire from Part 1(long story) as a teen in Italy who infiltrates a problematic, powerful, and fabulous gang called Passione to take down the boss, and make it so they no longer sell drugs. And Part 6 is the last part of this time line, where Part 3's Jojo has a teen daughter, who is framed for a hit and run to lure him their so that zealots who worshipped the Part 1 and 3 vampire as their Yaweh can have revenge and get him out of the way to plot a course for entering heaven as mortals. The opening with the female cast is for part 6 of Jojo's, also known as Stone Ocean. The main character is Jolyne Kujo and she is the daughter of the protagonist Jotaro Kujo from part 3 Stardust Crusaders. She is very cool character with a very OP and extremely fun ability. The different variants typically come with the last couple episodes once the villain's power (and in the case of the funky clicky guy evolved power) is revealed. So it gives the opening a sort of ominous vibe/spin to the original we had and shows the scene to us from the perspective of the villain We essentially get to see the opening but instead of from the main characters perspective its in the perspective of the main villain. Another key thing to note about this series and the intros is that it loves to play with color. Anytime there is heavy emotion in the show, we get a pallete swap

What i love about this series more than anything is how it feels like it actually takes place in the proper time periods. Ever since part 3, the show has been contemporary but parts 1 and 2 took place long before the manga was written. The people at David Production made everything feel genuine for the time period, down to some of the smallest details. In parts 3 and onward they take place in the modern day at the time the manga was being written. You can really feel the attention to detail in this series!

Well this is just a whole big journey in general if you tried to watch everything. The weight of how every series connect to each others, as you want to experience Jolyne Kujo's story in a great way, you'll have to see part 1 and part 3 first, maybe even part 5 but 1 and 3 had infomations related to part 6, and part 5 is actually a really good story in of itself, and you'll get introduced more about stands that way, with other things as well. Good luck gettinh into it, I'll also bring myself to watch the series I like without holding back now, thanks to you liking Jojo characters without saying that they're weird or anything. If you want to get a "taste" of what to expect from the series beyond the openings, I also reccomend listening to some character themes - Stardust Crusaders, Overdrive, Noble Pope, The Hand, Stand Activated, Evolution, Nella Cerniera, Stone Ocean, and naturally the infamous Il Vento D'Oro - all of them sound great, and often can tell you something about the character, and sometimes even about their abilities! Jojo has some really unique stuff in comparison with other anime. Your cats were super cute going at it in the background lol. From a musical perspective, you may be rather interested in reacting to the Endings for Jojo.... and possibly the Main protagonist themes. Western music and pop culture is an intergral part of Jojo and it's definitely worth watching. Just a slight word of warning because us fans always forget; the show can be rather brutal. There will be graphic body horror, and it doesn't shy away from that stuff. It's both serious and over the top ridiculous but that's the charm. Once a fan, always a fan.

I don't know a whole lot about the artists for any of the other OPs, but the first OP of Part 6 - so like, second or third from the end - is by the vocalist of a band called Kishida Kyoudan and the Akeboshi Rockets. Pretty sure it's not her whole band, but the style is definitely similar to what her band does. So you'll probably enjoy the rest of their music, too! They also did the OP for an extremely gory and extremely horny series called Highschool of the Dead, if you want another example of what their sound is like that's part of an anime OP.

Variants in short it's kinda depend on "what happen on the story at that time", which "specific changes usually show when "main enemy appears". I know you're probably not going to read this, but still; JoJo is a fantasy drama with intellectual fighting, that presents a funny and original yet serious and very well-written and thought-out story about a very old family dispute that sadly ended up affecting multiple generations of innocent people. Each "part" or "season" tells the story of a different member of the family, set in different places, eras and themes. Themes can range from vampires and justice (p1), aztec gods and perfection (p2), Soul and adventure (p3), murder and friendship (p4), crime and passion (p5), Injustice and time (p6). At least that's where the anime is at. The manga goes up to part 9 which is still being made. I personally find the best trait of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure to be, above all, how it's a story that IS in fact "bizarre", weird, funny, strange, yet you will still take it very seriously. You may not believe it at first but JoJo can make you laugh so much as it can make you cry, and some plot moments will have you thinking for years. It can break your heart in very unique ways other than just killing a character and stuff. I absolutely recommend it.

i think you should listen to the whole songs, there is A LOT that the short versions dont show, in essence, from the very first to the last season, the openings are about the anime, as weird as it sounds. op1 for example its about the clash of the 2 ''stars'' who start the whole story, jonathan and dio, and the destiny of their descendants, jojo(jonathan) has to fight it for his family, and dio have to fight it for his ambition, the songs tell the story of the season in a vague way You can go on with it, but the more you watch, the more you understand what the imagery on the opening and its lyrics means, its an unspoken rule that you never skip a jojo opening
