Hehe, I am Canadian and was gonna say that Russia must have enough influence on its neighbours for Kazakh people to be familiar with Russian :) A little bit like here in Quebec, surrounded by the rest of Canada and by the US, as Francophone as the province might be, pretty much anyone can speak and understand English, except in smaller towns far from everything

Dimash is 6'3" tall and I believe his height helps him in his vocal gymnastics. His parents are both singers and musicians and Dimash has studied since he was 4 years old, recently received his master's degree in music. He certainly is a once in a lifetime talent. Although he was encouraged to be an opera singer, he has aspirations to bring Kazakh music to the west in his own way. Last November he held a concert in NYC at The Barclay Center and tickets were sold out in minutes. You will love that concert. (Patricia, Jerry's wife)

@@Lilka20061990 it is easy to pronounce without an accent for those who speak Russian (maybe Kazakh, too, I don't know). My sister studied Italian, but she doesn't have an accent. The voice becomes louder from the effort, this is the only problem =) We must try to speak lower.

А китайский изучает, хотя жалуется, что очень тяжело идет. У него сестра с детства изучает английский и китайский. На казахском и русском общается абсолютно свободно. Английский активно учит с 2017 года, китайский (мандарин) учит разговорный, но неясно осилит ли.. Остальные языки просто запоминает текст фонетически (он может и читать фонетически, запись звуков с нотами)...

И еще один парень делает классно, но он записывает перевод, я думаю, с голоса. Еще есть девушка Виктория. Она делает переводы в виде рассказов. Но сейчас она редко появляется. Но все эти ребята редко делают переводы свежих реакций. А я пытаюсь записывать экспресс-перевод с автопереводчика. В крайнем случае на 2 или 3-й день со дня выхода реакции. Kazakhstan gained i/That's independence from Russia in 1991 and Dimash was born in 1994. Like most Kazaks, Dimash was raised to be as fluent in Russian as Kazak. More than half of the Kazakhstan population speak Russian as their native language. I believe that Dimash speaks Russian as his native language - most of his songs are tagged as Russian Language. He does speak Kasak too. While he sings in 12 languages, he is also learning to communicate in English and Mandarin. He also speaks common comment French. Thanks for your reactions!!

Dimash is bilingual because Kazakhstan is ex-republic of the USSR. Many Kasakhs are bilingual. So his Rissian is perfect without any accent. And his parents speak Kazakh and Russian languages perfectly 🙂

He grew up bilingual as most Kasachs do, b/c they used to belong to Russia until recently. He speaks a litte English and some phrases in Mandarin, but can't really hold a conversation in either of them. Dears often make him out to be this language God, he isn't 😁 His Grandma, who raised him, actually says he's bad at learning languages 😊. People will also tell you he sings in 12 languages which is only half true. He may have sung songs in that many languages over the past 20 years but sings in Russian, Mandarin, English, Kazach and Italian (+SOS in French) 99% of the time now. It's still super impressive. Especially considering he only really speaks two of them.

He knows Russian as good as Kazakh, since childhood. Kazakhstan is former Soviet Union country. Half the population speaks Russian and half Kazakh. Most people know both, like Dimash.

Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic was a sister republic in the Soviet Union. The lingua franca was Russian. Kazakhstan during the Soviet period went into a rapid standardization including the center of space launches. Dimash is fluent in Russian.

(Phonetically: tolka ti adna) means "you're the only one! ❤️ This song doesn't belong to Dimash but to a group called "Studio-A" of which the original members in this performance are: the drummer, the guitarist and the pianist. The pianist is also the composer of this song. The lead singer of the group unfortunately passed away and the part from 04:34 to 04:55 it's an improvisation and addition from Dimash, in a traditional Kazakh "mourning" style, to honour the late lead singer of the group. Also, at the end of the performance, the camera show a bald guy wearing a white shirt, in standing ovation... he's Igor Yakovlevich Krutoy. World renowned Russian-Ukrainian pianist and composer, he will join Dimash and you will see him in some of his videos.
