Have you guys seen this Tiny Serger? It's made by Singer. I found mine at the thrift store and had to bring it home with me. In this video, I demonstrate how it functions, show you a peek at the inside (threading diagram, spool caps, side switches), and show how I cleaned up the exterior with a magic eraser. (NOTE: don't use a magic eraser on the logo because magic erasers can be really strong!)
I bought this before I had a full-size serger. I ended up selling this tiny one since I didn't need both. But it sure did look cute on my shelf for a while!

The light turning off when the pedal is plugged in is a safety feature! Just learned about it. It’s so that you leave the pedal unplugged when threading it :)

My grandma just gave me hers, something to try until I get my first sewing machine. Threading was a pain in the butt, but I got it down. Happy to see that you can use the cones on it, now I feel comfortable going out to buy my preferred colors. Thank you!

I have one of these. I am a home sewer in a very small house and this tiny serger suits me just fine for when I am finishing my own garments. I will note that it does not handle denim well, and it is very helpful to have a thin/long wire needle threader to help the threading process.

My grandma gave me hers and said that till you get a professional one you can have mine, it was a sweet goodbye gift from her. It has become my quick grab serger for cons because how small it is.

Omgoodness! Thank you for the vid! Mine is a thrift store gem as well! I thought maybe I was bonkers: the threading, the light, everything! But for little jobs it is great!

Thanks for posting this. I've been considering buying one of these because I don't have much room and all I really need is edge finishing.

I am in a thrift store right now and saw this machine. I have never seen one this small but seems like a perfect fit after watching your video. I'm goin to buy it now. Always wanted a serger just didn't have the space for a big one and they are super expensive too. This thrift one is $24.99.

I found manual online and it says the light is for threading and will turn off when the foot pedal is plugged in. So it's intentional if not actually ideal.

I bought mine years after having a regular home serger, why? It's great for traveling to scifi or costuming events. Not just for me but for other fans who have emergencies when hand sewing just won't do. I also use it for quick repairs when my other serger is having underlooper problems.

That's a really wonderful reason to keep one around, from a costumer who used to have con disasters and depended on the kindness of the community to keep things together... You're awesome.

The little light is a safety feature. 1) so you can see to thread those little eyes way down in the bottom. And 2) foot petal disconnected so you dont accidentally step on it while you are "struggling" to thread it. (Triple Ouch!)

Any chance you could speak to how to reattach the presser foot? Just got one of these, and the presser foot came off while I was threading it, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to keep it in place!

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if it was worth considering. I knit, and even though I'm also a seamstress, a regular sewing machine doesn't work well on many hand knit items, so I was thinking about getting a serger. But I would want to change the thread often, and even after reading comments that the light helps with threading, it still sounds difficult. I'm just not in the mood. I'll keep looking.

The manual explains that the light goes "on" when you unplug the foot pedal because the light is meant for threading (guess they think that it won't help in sewing!) and by unplugging the foot pedal you will not accidentally sew your fingers while spending the 45 minutes (approx) that it takes to thread the machine.

Glad it provided some insights! I ended up selling mine since I use a full-size serger now. I got a retro White Super Lock 534 serger and I love it! Did you end up finding a serger?

This machine is a serger so that means it is for edges it makes the finishes edge and cuts the fabric at the same time. It is not a sewing machine it is something completely different.
