I just stumbled into YEBBA on KZbin about a week ago. Holy Cow, I can't quit watching this video and My MInd over and over and over again. Her pitch and vocal control are just ungodly. She somehow manages to sound cool, funky, and sweet, all at the same time. There's no reason to believe that this young Arkansas girl won't become huge very, very soon. Once-in-a-generation talent. WOW.

I love this. I've never done a capella, personally, but it is such a teachable format. However, I'm a choir nerd. I spent as much time in general choir as a could with an instrumentalist major. So the addition of the choir, sold it, hands down for me. I loved the reaction but the choir along with her set up, magic. Love it.

I understand why people requested Evergreen, it's great--but if you want to hear Yebba near the height of her vocal prowess you should react to something like "Smoke" with Luke Levenson or maybe gravity with Clark Beckham. Although if you react to "Lucky" with Thirdstory, you get the added benefit of being introduced to another INCREDIBLE vocal group that you'll no doubt want to see more of ;)

The use of (two) choirs…. a Black gospel choir and a traditional choir singing together!…Choirs are used a lot in American music … check them out. She was in a Southern church choir as a young girl where she learned to sing! Many of the things you were astounded by are commonplace for many singers who come out of church choirs to do pop songs
