This is a typical old classic Bollywood masala movie. Like a full meal. Everything is available. No CGI, all action scenes were done by stuntman. Even the lorry chasing Ajay Devgan was the original shot. Director Rohit Shetty explained it in one of the interviews.

Honestly, I liked Simmba more than Singham, as the main reason I believe why Singham worked was because of Prakash Raj, the way he portrayed the character it just uplifted the movie a lot, while in Simmba personally everything worked from Ranveer's acting, songs and bgm, story, Simmba's whole character arc, his relation with other characters especially with Durva Ranada and the girl who dies works perfectly and even the action even though illogical works well because it takes place in such a time and in such a way that you root for Simmba to beat the sh*t out of those goons, for me it was a really perfectly crafted and a tight movie

You need to see the "slap" in the context of the title. The title is "Singham", which means "Lion". So, the hero metaphors the Lion. And the lion does not kick or punch, it slaps(swipes) and bites.. it would have been unwatchable if he did the 'bite' thing, but at least he slapped his prey just like the lion 'swipes'!
