Padam Shri Bhai Nirmal Singh Ji Khalsa was an icon of the Sikh community across the world. He left for his heavenly abode at 4:30 AM on April 2, 2020, after serving as the 'Hazuri Ragi' of the Sikh Sanctum Sanctorum, Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, for several years. He traveled far and wide to perform the most melodious shabad kirtan one can ever hope to hear. A man of humble roots, Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa was recognized for his contributions to the great Sikh traditions of shabad kirtan by the Government of India with the award of Padam Shri in 2009. His level of excellence would be hard to match by anyone in times to come, but recordings of his marvelous performances shall pervade our lives for ever. Please listen to his shabads, and this particular recitation of Asa-di-Vaar, which has no parallel. I could write a thesis on his virtues. We invited him to perform at the Gurdwara Sahib of Southwest Houston (GSSWH), Houston, Texas, USA, several times, and honored him of which he was so deserving. No tribute would be enough to celebrate his life yet we can ask the Waheguru that his soul rest in peace, and give solace to the Sikh community the world over that we lived an era in which Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa enriched our lives with his shabad kirtan. to be very true, i loved it, only thing I have concern is about the following shabad ਡਿਠੇ ਸਭੇ ਥਾਵ ਨਹੀ ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਹਿਆ ॥ which was actually sang as ਡਿਠੇ ਸਭੇ ਥਾਵ , ਥਾਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੁਧ ਜੇਹਇਆ ( at around 1:53:00 time) which in actual changes the whole meaning of the shabad. the changed shabad praises the place, where as actual shabad is praise of waheguru. waheguru summat bakhashan.. sab nu..

The most authentic version of Asa Di Vaar recited by Padam Shri, Bhai Nirmal Singh Ji Khalsa in unique Sri Darbar Sahib traditions. This is the Sikh Heritage which must be preserved and passed on to the future generations. Performances of such a high caliber will be lost into oblivion unless efforts are made by the Sikhs to train the youth to be able to replicate Bhai Nirmal Singh Ji Khalsa's way of presenting the gurbani.
