You are so right. Just don't go so far as to damage your cords. It's so sad to see singers lose their livelihood way too early. There's nothing worse than having to sit on the sidelines and watch others do what you were born to do because you've damaged your instrument.

I am trying not to force it, but in some parts it needs a little pushing, but I have to say it is a pretty subjective endeavour, I have been learning, and I still suck lol, but I am at least 50% better, careful practice is paramount

It's always ok to experiment with softer, quieter for a while. Then when it's working, gradually increase loudness in the exercises. You want balance and coordination first...then the power can come. Pushing loud and hard will get you stuck in a condition you can't improve.

Nothing will happen to your lungs by drinking a cleansing tea. Unless you inhale it into your lungs instead of swallowing it.

Sometimes age for boys who's voices are changing. But for all of us, It is because the larynx begins to rise and the voice begins to strain, crack, or break. The larynx must stay down and then the problems go away generally.

Hi! I have a question about mixed voice. Do you know about chesty, heady, and balanced mixed? Do you think that your mix depends on which register you train the most and is the stronger one? E.g. someone who sings mostly opera songs with head voice will be more likely to develop a heady mix etc.
@PowerToSing
@PowerToSing 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Annabelle: I think your mix depends on your ability to bridge. In other words, your ability to transition from chest voice to head voice without reaching...ie, no straining, no breaking, no flipping, no breathiness, larynx at the level of speaking, and the vocal cords adjusting appropriately. If this doesn't happen, then the quality of your mix will suffer. And it will be the same for whatever genre of music you sing. If done well then whether you sing opera or rock, the music and lyrics will enable you to have the quality of mix and head voice you need. Generally speaking, your cords will contract more firmly and deeper for pop, rock, etc and contract less firmly and less deep for classical/opera, etc. The differences between these genres should be more about style choice. The real challenge is changing styles...which can be very difficult because each has their own feel....developed through years of work. It's not easy for a pop star to sing in the style of the opera star and be accepted by the die hard fans of opera. And vise versa.

Hi can you please make a video about how to bring out your voice, i know about mixed voice, i learned how to do that i know about chest voice head voice, i know about vibrato and belting and i know how to do those too, i also been doing lots of singing exercises. But out of all those teqniques im missing one thing which is the foundation of my voice, what are some teqniques to bringing out your orginal voice, do you just have to sing and not think about it or is their a exercise or teqnique to bring out your voice that way i can sound the same each time i sing and not sound diffrent every time.

Its hard for me to even sing head voice. I lost the feeling of it, what needs to take place for it to happen. When I try now it's screeches and scratches. Its all in my throat. I spent such time on trying to have a mix that now my head voice is foreign to me now sadly

Hi Ti Bo....I had the same problem when I was your age. Here's how you fix it. 1. Get your vocal type: www.powertosing.com/discover-your-vocal-type-wt 2. Start doing exercises for your vocal type. You will regain your head voice and do it better than you did before.
