Sophia is singer and community musician working with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to rediscover the natural voice and reinforce the innate human ability to make music. She spent her early years singing Gospel music at church, where her passion for voice began. As a teenager she attended music camps which informed much of her experience of harmony singing, and led her first workshop in 2007. After her apprenticeship with Spitalfields Music she set up her first community choir - Hackney Harmony - in 2010. During her 4 years as music coordinator in primary education she completed the Music Workshop Skills course at Goldsmiths. She is passionate about singing for positive change and healing often leading singing at protests and actions, as well as for ritual and ceremony. Her workshops are heart warming and soul inspiring, creating a sense of euphoria, connection and empowerment for everyone involved.

Sophia taught us some songs at 'Into The Wild' festival in Lewes UK this spring 2016. She is *such* a fantastic teacher, and had me in tears throughout the song...incredible lady XxXX #uberlove

Yes yes Yes YES! This needs to be shared over and over and over... some people are born with exceptional talent, as with any 'born with this' gift or talent. And yet, it is easier physiologically for all of us to sing than it is to speak - it is easier on the vocal cords (folds). As she shows, we all are capable, if we can throw off our doubts & fears & insecurities. It is deeply personal and mysterious, and to find a teacher or leader who is loving and sensitive who can show you how to find your voice is key... singing together in harmony in a group - is magic, and joyful, and uplifting. Sing On ♫ ♪!

I lead Woodland Voices community choir in Cardiff, and the Cardiff University Staff Wellbeing choir. We absolutely adore this song and sing it in the full four-part harmony that Sophia arranged and shared with the Natural Voice Network. It's one of our all-time favourites. Sophia is a beautiful person and utterly inspirational teacher! The way she works with the teens at voice camp is incredible. Huge love to you, keep the songs coming! xx
