This girl proves that you can develop your talent on your own as many other artists. Yes it takes really long until you are gonna achieve what you want but never quit, there are people that when their only halfway of their path to the succes they just give up, so keep it in your mind, even if you work a lot and more than you expected don't give up because at some point you will get what you want, so did this girl. I am proud of you Mirela!

As I say in the video, this is the shortened down version to a much longer and much more embarrassing video. Thought I'd try uploading this first and seeing the reaction it gets. There are two points to this: 1) I understand I'm not an amazing singer but this serves as a reminder of where I used to be and it was BAD to say the least. So it's motivation to keep me going so I can get better and better. 2) People only ever see the final versions of whatever it is you do; whether you're a musician, artist, writer or whatever - people never see all the hard work and the stress/frustration and the tears and all that lovely stuff but in reality it takes so much and yet I see so many creative people giving up because their work isn't at the same standard as their heroes yet. Our heroes struggled too - I think that sure some people maybe be naturally better at some things than others but I believe that talent is made by the individuals willing to make it. So don't give up because you're not one of the greats. You're you. You're getting there. So fucking nervous to be actually uploading this cause the beginning part in particular is so cringey!!! Edit: The full video is now up!
@worldpeace18227 жыл бұрын
Mirela hmm well my impression is that you sing a lot with your head voice and maybe not so much in your more abdominal range and with a lot of pressure at that. If you can’t properly hit the tone yet ..go deeper by an octave. Your voice will thank you for that. I might be wrong so, it is hard to tell from those clips. Anyway keep doing what you love and if you don’t already get a good vocal trainer as there is a limit what you can do on your own..and yes you can do harm to your voice when doing it wrong over a longer time.

Not that I'm good now, but I used to be bad, and I mean BAD. I wish I had recorded it. A little while ago it hit me just how differently I sing now as I was trying to remember how I used to sing. Before there was sooo little I could do and sound good (or somewhat good, or just _not_ cringey)... Now there are songs I just couldn't sing before and now they're easy, e.g. Miley Curys' The Climb. I could NOT sing that song! Now I can! And I sound so much better. And I have my own style. :D All because I said to hell with the cringe, I'll sing anyway, even though the sound of it makes me cringe. All I did was I kept singing at home every now and then. There's this song - Breath from Park Hyo Shin. *I can sing that.* And very beautifully at some parts, too! I am of course nowhere near as good as he is and when singing it my way I hear it needs improvements at certain parts, but damn it *_I can actually sing that!_* If my 2011 self heard that she wouldn't believe it. :D This song is one of the things that made me decide to learn about singing (the theory has always scared me, but I think now I'm over that and ready) and try to learn on my own. When I have the money, I'd love to do some vocal coaching. I WILL invest in singing, I WILL pursue it, so what it won't be my career - career or not - it is my passion! ^^ I wish I could hear more of your older stuff. I love hearing the difference and the progress. :)

I’ve only recently started to take more interest in music, both dancing and singing. It has been a year and a half I think. Anyways the same goes for me, I tried singing higher pitched songs, I’m a guy by the way, and my voice would crack every 5 seconds, but now I can actually go as higher or in rare cases higher than most girls I know. The same goes for dancing where I was stiff before but now I have a good flow. Point is, practicing even though unintentional doing it, does work.

Sick Rock vocals🤘it's pretty sad to see people in the comments bitching in the comments about how your *loud* and *screaming* well it actually takes a lot of talent to do. For example Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slipknot, System of a down, Pantera and many more use screaming in their songs (which is pretty hard to replicate/do) and they all are extremely successful for it. Metal/rock might not be your cup of tea whatever, but you do gotta understand that this girl has some talent.

Duuude!!! You've sure come a long way! I think that the first thing I ever saw was the video of you singing with a band, the Muse song!! And also that one where you were wearing a blue dress! It honestly wasn't so good but I felt the little magic thing I told you about. And man, you've got to be proud of yourself!! I soooo agree with what you wrote in the description! And I'd like to add that as much as it's something pretty obvious and that most of us realize at some point, it's really good to get a reminder now and then. Often when you're working on bettering yourself and you just look up to see all these people so much better, you forget to look at yourself and remember where you started and how much you've grown already. Anyways, let's not make this unecessarily long! I'm proud of you and really happy that I found you! Your voice is awesome and you work really hard and it's amaing and motivating! I love to see your progress and really, I'm a fan! I think your voice is getting more and more powerful and also you are gaining much more control and man, the things you'll do!! Sending lots of love and positive vibes! I can't wait to see what the future holds for you! So happy to know you and really glad you did this! You're an amazing singer and as much as there's still room for so much progress, you've come along way and you've got the strength and everything you need. And you have soul and those little sparks that makes it even more complete!
@MirelaMusicUK7 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I totally agree - you end up comparing yourself to people who are much better than you and it makes you want to give up but as you said, you just need a reminder sometimes of where you used to be and all the progress you've made. It's good motivation for sure! And thank you so much for your kind words, and I'm glad you gave me a chance those years ago! Man, it's gone by so quick!
@chloerivs7 жыл бұрын
It does go by so so fast! It's scary sometimes! I personally tend to beat myself up over the time that I've wasted in the past whenever something comes up and I have to wait a little longer to practice (like the fact that I had to sell my guitar and then haven't practiced in six months). Because I know that I used to be a lazy piece of shit but now I've decided to give it all, and I know I just have so much progress to make to be decent and so much more to make to be half as good as I'd wish to be. And when I'm not working for whatever reason, I go cray sometimes. Like, "you've already wasted so much time, you can't waste anymore, you gotta do it now, hurry, hurry". And man, it's horrible sometimes. It's like, life has thrown me in dark holes that showed me in very cruel ways that tomorrow is not promised and that you never know how much longer you're here for. And there's so much I want to do and I've wasted so much of that precious time already and it drives me crazy to think that I could not do it because I keep ending up on the waiting bench and because I was a fool in the past. Anyways. Ha ha Time drives me cray every now and then. But like I wrote not a long time ago, every day is a victory. And I think we should make a point to celebrate every progress, even those baby steps, because it keeps you motivated. And not because you haven't reached a huge shiny milestone means you should beat yourself up. You moved. An inch, maybe, but you moved. And that's worth a pat on the head and a little treat. Every step is a milestone. Every day is a big day. I think it's important to learn that. Don't be your own bully. There's enough people out there willing to drag you in the mud and bury you for free. So be the one to raise you up and give you strength. Be the sparks, and the fire and the fuel. And another thing is that, if you don't believe in yourself, if you don't fight for your own heart, then who's going to? If you don't care for yourself, no one is going to, and if anyone tries they're gonna fail because it's all in your hands. Nobody cares about a broken person. So be broken if that's where you are right now, but keep the faith here. Maybe I'm just late to the party for realizing this only now, but it's true that if you don't believe in yourself, then no one else is going to do it for you. Because people only care about themselves and they just can't care about someone that doesn't have even the tiniest backbones. And that was long again! x) Congrats again dude on all your progress and keep on keeping on! I'm glad I gave you a chance too. You rock!
@janiya73356 жыл бұрын
Not sure if it's the songs you sing or if it's just you but you're a screamer some times and that's not good for your voice at all. You need to enunciate more. You're good though i I'm sure you're going to get even better

I love how honest this is, you didn't cut out bits you thought were cringy because people need to see what real progress actually looks like and how long it takes as well. Whilst I don't like The Beatles (not my style) part of the reason that they were so good at performing was that they had to perform every night which made them hone their craft. Practice doesn't make perfect but it does make improvement.

You weren't terrible. You just needed training. This is not really showing that singing is " just a skill". I could never sing like your 2012 you , so I guess it's a talent after all.

You'd be surprised I'm sure if you saw the right vocal coach. I used to think that I couldn't sing past C4 while sounding full, and now that I've developed my mix in just a year I'm able to belt out over an octave higher. All it really means is that you're slightly earlier on the path than she was, doesn't mean you're talentless. Keep in mind, though how your mind will always look for reasons not to do something. I thought I had no hope of singing well, and now a year later I'm seriously shocked at what practice (when done correctly) can do. Singing is a skill like any other. The only difference between you and talented kids is that the talented kids found someone decent vocald muscle coordination earlier in life than you, than were told by everyone around them how great they were so they kept practicing. It's never too late, that being said it won't be easy but if it's something you really want to do and you love it'll be worthwhile. I know that singing has become my favourite hobby since I started practicing.

From the start I can say you have decent support for your voice, many girls struggle to access diaphramatic support and they tend to sing almost completely in falsetto. The fact that you could sing with such a strong chest voice is already a major advantage moving forward
@MohamedElsayed-ic7eb6 жыл бұрын
I kinda figure out what was wrong with you , you strain much harder on rock vocals and your belts were very nasal you had kinda lazy soft palate and over compressed vocal chords and pulling chest habit accompanied with high larynx but on the recent one the strain is much smaller on rock vocals and you were almost neutral but you kinda have issues with breath so my question did you take any lessons or what you did to improve?
@MirelaMusicUK6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! A lot of people have brought up my breath control, which I'm finding very helpful because I didn't realize it was so bad. I've never had lessons as I couldn't afford them but now I will hopefully be getting them soon. I used to just watch KZbin videos on singing and practice every night, that's how I improved but obviously I've still got a long way to go.
@MohamedElsayed-ic7eb6 жыл бұрын
I am trying too but rarely you will find youtube helpful the most technique that i found great is speech level singing but you need a good teacher that demonstrate it because it can be confusing at some points , but my advice for you is you need to belt more safely (using mixed voice) beware of rock belts because they may cause you nodules , and to be completely sure that you don't have silent reflux or acid reflux because they may make your vocal chords run out of breath easily try to search more on speech level singing and it will help you alot

Mirela You never had a bad voice in the first place and it has definitely improved and matured over the years. Also, I don't know if it is already the case, but if not, I think you should take lessons to extend your range and gain a better technique so that your voice keeps getting better ! Keep holding on, I'm with you ! Good job ! ❤

Damn that one might be a little too ambitious for me! She's got some fucking amazing vocals on her!
@cheese36406 жыл бұрын
Your voice has definitely developed over the years but I noticed that you gather your breath from your nose and/or your head which may make it difficult to pull up those high notes at times and can make them shouty, and even sharp or flat. Take notice of how much shorter your notes were when you were ill - that’s because you sing from the nose and not the diaphragm. Trained singers are also affected by common colds but can still sustain notes because they pull them from their diaphragm instead. Singing is not just about hitting those high notes, it’s about learning control and removing tension from the vocal chords to keep the consistency and prevent any vocal damage. Tldr, take breathing lessons, they will help you a lot in mastering your technique and getting your voice where it wants to go. Keep at it, you’re definitely going places 🙂
@MirelaMusicUK6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the feedback! I actually picked up a singing class recently at Leeds College of Music and the teacher also mentioned my breathing so it's something I've been working on recently. What you said about trained singers when they get colds is also really interesting - I didn't know that. Thanks again! x

Rolling Apples throat singing?. i don't understand. it was really really pushed and strained , but she still had a basic understanding and ability to match pitch. so many pop singers still have really shit or damaging technique.

You’ve always had pretty good pipes but they definitely became stronger the only thing you should work on is your pronouncing because you sort of drag the words strangely and it throws you off key quite often :) I’m not here to offend just to give a little constructive criticism :)
