I like the golden gown , the umbrella, the choreography, the costumes and the bearing of the princess.

Singkil is the Filipino version of the Ramayana, the story of God Ram (Hindu, Indian god). The reason for it being from India is because prior to the Spanish colonialistion, philippines was heavily Indianised and used to have Hinduism mixed with folk religion as its religion. There were also 2 prominent hindu kingdoms 700 years ago, Rajahnate of butuan and Cebu. And the word rajah(and also rani) is a sanskrit word (Indian).

I wonder if there are similar dances back before when Luzon and Visayas were still Hindus-Buddhist..
@hardekailawadi3 жыл бұрын
@@nadonado648 true. It could also be slightly different from the Maranao version as the Ramayana and the Hindu-Buddhist religions are very inclusive of local beliefs. That's why all countries that are East of India have their own version of Ramayana incorporating local customs and beliefs. The skeleton of the story is same but the details are changed and the customs as well

Idk about this singkil but i do know only a small minority of being influenced by hindu i think it mostly in visayan region but not the whole archipelago predominantly the aminism and paganism is the main religion here each tribes has their own beliefs like folk religion animism its like shinto in japan they believed and worshipped in natural like trees, wind, fire,sun, and moon they still practiced today like the T'boli tribe and the igorot in the north of cordilleran region and i think they are pretty much related in east asia linguistically have similarities but austronesian. The kingdoms here yeah maybe influenced but not at all the kingdom of Ma-i are heavily influenced by chinese because they trade here and in fact we had a chinese ancestry in our blood.

And i think indians are causcasoid i think u have a share blood with european and arabs because your facial feature makes different also the central and euroasian that's what u all stand the most in asia while us we have common ancestry with east asian mongoloid feature and some are not but it makes us stand out also slanted eyes is beautiful too and almond eyes.

Okay na sana kaso may mali. Hindi pwede hawakan ng Datu ang Bae. If you're going to showcase other tribes culture at least do proper research and do their culture justice. Mali pa title ng Video, the word Muslim refers to people who practice Islam. and yung sayaw is sayaw of a Maranao Princess. Though the Maranaos practice Islam and are Muslims, it's still incorrect to call it Muslim Dance. There are no dance in Islam. Also we don't like it being called a "Philippine" traditional dance/music because that would mean it's Filipino, and this is the dance of the Maranao Tribe of the Moro People, which are in the Bangsamoro Autonomous region. We never became subjects of the Spanish Empire. The word Filipino was given to the Subjects of the Spanish Empire, which are only in the Luzon and Visayas Islands not us. I'm so tired of the Philippines milking our culture and tradition for their own benefit only and take credit for it. Ever since the forceful integration of the Moros in the Philippines, we have been treated harshly by the government and subjected to being 2nd class citizens in the country. Plus the previous harsh and inhumane attempts to subjugate us into submission, and the widespread land grabbing of our lands which the PH government supported. Not once has the government did anything to favor us. So stop appropriating our culture as Filipino, because it's not. .

@hardekailawadi3 жыл бұрын
@rainspy18 hmm one should be proud of their past. Sadly, wherever the Spanish went, they suppressed and deleted the past of the people and forced their own religion and language. Sad to see philippines lost its history... + The fact that Philippines is named after a king of a foreign country because the Spanish wanted to impress him
