I sang this song at my grandmother‘s burial service after her funeral. I also sang this song with my cousin Nicole in the hospital cafeteria when my mom and sisters and I visited her before she died. 1:14

I understand the sentiment behind this song at funerals, etc.. But. This song isn't about death, dying, and missing a loved one. Hell, it's not even about a damn flower. It's about living, letting go of your ego and loving. It's about stepping out of your comfort zone and allowing someone into your heart, even when doing so scares you to death. It's about LIVING and loving, facing your fears. At least, that's what I hear when listening to this song. This song has a heavy emotional impact on me because I'm guilty of holding back and not taking that chance. But, that seed is growing, even inside a stubborn fool such as myself. I've allowed those winter snows to hold me back, far too long.
