What about the ebony fingerboard and MOP inlays on Eastman? you didn't mention that but it was a fair review for me.

The Eastman looks a lot like a Guild Bluesbird to me. Good choice!

You're right! Looks very similar. Nevertheless there are some diferences: Guild is chambered, fretoboard is of pauferro. Meanwhile Eastman is solid one-piece body (and still is very light), fretboard is ebony... and it is handmade!!

I never played Knaggs so I can't say anything about that (although IMHO it was supposed to have very smooth tuners, at least), but I had both Gibson and Heritage and I played some Eastmans: Heritage tends to be better than a normal LP standard but Eastman puts both to shame. The SB59/v 's I tried were great, surely at CS level. The SB56 goldtop had PRS quality finishes. So I'm not surprised at all you preferred the normal SB59 to the other two...

They’re kluson tuners and they have adjustable tension on the buttons. If you think they’re too stiff you can just loosen the screws on the buttons

If I had to pick one, I'd go with the P-90s.

I can't really afford any of these but they're competing for Gibson $ so I like that. Eastman is most bang for buck at around $1,800. If I had that to just blow I'd get two nice Epiphone LPs and a case or a pedal. Or an Epi and a nice new amp. Call me cheap. But of these three you featured today I want the P90 one but would choose the Eastman as the best buy.

Hey Ryan, what are you plugging the guitars into while you do this series in this guitar shop? I've heard a couple of humbucking guitars I actually like, which isn't normal for me so I'm wandering if it's what you're plugging into that is making a difference?

Seem to be horribly overpriced. The question is are these as good or better in any way than a Gibson Les Paul Standard? The Knaggs seems to be a boutique LP JR.

Both Knaggs that I have personally seen were crafted way better than my US Gibson guitars. Including my Les Paul Goldtop. Was not even close. The Knaggs are usually boutique. I did not know any store actually sold them. I did notice the one here was much cheaper price wise than the two I saw. May be branching out.

The Heritage and Eastman are better quality guitars than your average Gibson USA Les Paul Standards from the past 10 years. They don't have good resale value, though - in that sense, a Gibson is a safer bet.

Im curious about those Knaggs. They cost lots of money, but in every demo/review there are some complains about different things. How the company still works? Who buy their products? Or is this just bashing from jealous youtubers?

The Eastman looks like a SB59 model. These have good specs, good wood (ebony board) and are made in China. It's the best deal out of that group.

​@@nickm6001 Because if its a well crafted instrument, the country doesn't matter. Gibson's are made in USA and they're certainly not known for quality these last years. Fender also had a dark past when it was sold to CBS.

Phelipe Costa yeah fenders after 1965 aren’t as good, lower quality stuff, especially in the 70’s strats

@@nickm6001 They're made in a Chinese custom shop. Apparently their quality is excellent. You should be able to get a good deal on a used one since they don't have great resale value because they're made in China.

Do you want a nice Les Paul style electric guitar? Try the Stellar Mercury 06 Single Cut, it's made in the Cort Guitar factory in Seoul South Korea, which is where the first Epiphone Les Pauls were made. So, its basically an Epiphone without the price tag. You can find them on ebay for $199.00 with a hard shell case. I love mine, looks like a 59 burst plain top, nice guitar!
