Thanks for cleaning the ADA curb ramp. That is a federally mandated requirement. It is the responsibility of the city to keep clean and clear for anyone using a cane, walker, seeing eye dog, wheelchair, etc. Those situations should be reported to the city. If they do not respond there is a form that can be filled out and sent to the Department of Justice. The curb and gutter is the responsibility of the city and is part of storm water disposal. There should be no water standing in front of a ADA curb ramp.

I don’t believe that statement for a minute. I raised two kids, I had the help of a wonderful husband, my kids did their part (with extra when they weren’t in school) and it was still exhausting. I couldn’t imagine there being four as a single parent. It sounds like you lived that from the child’s side and not the parents. Plus you can’t judge anyone else’s situation. So thoughtful to help a single parent! I was a child in a single-parent home and watched my parent nearly collapse daily with fatigue. Getting necessary things done were more like are there clean clothes to go to school in? Is there food to eat? Is there a way to provide school supplies, shoes, gym clothes, dental or medical care? No one even dreamed of the yard being accessible or mowing until neighbors complained... It was nightmare living and nobody was happy although my parent did the best possible. Eventually, the situation was so dire we kids (except for 1, the oldest) went to other (separate) homes for at least a year and sometimes longer... It was quite something when we were able to live together again and help, really concrete help, like lawn care and light home maintenance, made an incredible difference. God bless you.

I agree. I did a number of years as an RN at home health as well as hospice and I can tell you the trash and nastiness of an outside house is exactly what’s going on in the inside. I went into places that were so filthy. I wouldn’t sit down For kids and that’s hard but there’s no excuse for kids over five and six years old to start learning how to pick up after themselves. I was a single mom I had a full-time job. I know what it’s like. I had a clean house my kids had food on the table at night. They had clean clothes to wear. We had time together and I cut the grass even if it was at 7 o’clock at night until my son got old enough to learn how to cut the grass. Just saying. And by the way, just because your man doesn’t mean you can’t do it.

It’s awesome what you did! I pick up lawn clippings for my garden beds. I’m so glad you helped, maybe the kids could play in the backyard now but that a super busy street it seems. Best of luck dad👍🏻I saw a farmer with his 2,3 y o kids out feeding farm animals so get your kids involved so it’s not ALL on you. You’ll be glad when they get older. Start a garden just by throwing seeds out in back and teach the kids…have fun👍🏻

What a load of work. That sidewalk was unbelievable. I loved you finding the gas meter. Guess they're not using it or maybe it's they never check it. It's read by wireless, not to diminish anything else, but the best part is that now the kids can play safely in the yard.

Yeah, couple people mentioned that I think in the last couple years, they have changed most of them over to digital! And yes, so nice for the kids to be able to play in the yard!

@@TopNotchLawns For a week or two unless they keep it up. They can ALL start using the trash can.

You could still find the operator of the street sweeper and give him a gift card to a restaurant! Its great helping out a single dad with kids.

Even if it is his job he made multiple drive pasts, didn't have to do that. Thank you to street sweepers EVERYWHERE❤❤
