Yes, the voltage waveform, the voltage magnitude, the switch type, the coils arrangement etc. all have impact. Getting the right voltage waveform has a considerable impact on the output.

Many out there are doing PLL, QCW, half bridge, full bridge, etc , just to have those kinds of output! My friend, you have demonstrated all in one as a package! that's indeed awesome. I think next thing on your list concerning the same coil, is to make it play music through a midi system. I mean make that single IGBT play music. There's already one guy from indonesia who has already tried it with his single mosfet & his channel is Tesla Musik Petir. I think that among all that I've seen out there, your built is the minimalist one with awesome outputs. That's the spirit & just keep it up. Thanks

@@HVE Thus, if the diameter of secondary coil is 110 mm & with around 750 turns, your Resonant frequency is around 380 KHz. By further adding a big topload, your resonant frequency has now become around 250 - 300 KHz . Most of the single mosfet slayer exciter circuit works around the same resonant frequency but yours is by far the best I've ever seen.

hello, i have a question, can i drive this circuit with the voltage regulator straight from the outlet 230VAC? im using irfp460. and do you regulate the arc lenght by the variac or the voltage regulator?

I think if you don't have a diode, you will apply negative voltage across your MOSFET and that will burn it.

@@HVE i would use a diode i was thinking if i have to use a variac because i dont have one so if i can plug the voltage regulator straight to the outlet and regulate the voltage with that (with diode in series)
@HVE
@HVE 2 жыл бұрын
@@molty3614 Hi, You can do that, but probably you can not turn the knob of the regulator too much, otherwise your MOSFET will burn. Start from the minimum level and very slightly turn the knob, until you burn the first mosfet, keep the knob 20% less than that value for any future test. Above ~ 150 V it is likely to burn the MOSFET, with the current parameters. You can change the design parameters and you can directly use 220 V.

Dear Sir, I just wanted to ask you about that blue ceramic capacitor & the other component found on that connector on your power Mosfet transistor. Is that high voltage ceramic capacitor, what's its value & the other component, is that a resistance? If you don't mind dear sir, is that your snubber circuit? How did you connect them on the transistor? Are they connected between the drain & source? If so, what's the value of the blue ceramic capacitor plus its voltage rating and the resistance ?Concerning your arduino nano, did you program it? Awaiting a prompt reply from you dear sir as I highly appreciate & admire your video. Thank you in advanced.
@HVE
@HVE 2 жыл бұрын
It is a simple snubber, you can use a capacitor that is 3 kV or more, the resistor must handle the power loss in the snubber, since i did not have a good resistor, i used several resistors in parallel to increase the total power rating of that resistor. The values were mentioned in the video. Arduino nano is programmed very simply by turning a pin on have a delay and turning it off have another delay, turn on delay better to keep it around 11 ms, turn off delay anything above 200-300 ms is okay. you can reduce it as you wish but must be careful that you don't burn your switches. I selected 307 and a delay of 11 ms to have some randomness in the discharge (it sweeps over time over the 50 Hz).
