That Fluke instrument is really the bees knees in real time.Amazing the distortion that these items can impress upon a perfectly clean mains waveform.I never realised the complete havoc that can be unleashed.1st class video and a real eye opener.

There is a mistake on the whiteboard in the first part of the video. Displacement power factor is NOT equal to W / VA. Total Power Factor is the one that is equal to W / VA. This can be verified later in the video on the Fluke power analyzer, for example at 11:52 (12W, 15 VA, 0.79 PF, 1.00 DPF) Displacement Power Factor is the phase difference between the fundamental component of the voltage and the fundamental component of the current.

THD v is what you should be focusing on. Impedance of your source will determine how bad your distorted current waveform will affect it.

How did you get a current sinewave on that Signet scope? We need an affordable unit for our school lab and it seems that only Power Analyzers have that overlay feature of AC and Current sinewaves overlayed,

Non-sinusoidal current of LED light is to be exact not product of rapidly switching current, but it is product of combination of input rectifier and input capacitor (current is flows only when input voltage is greater than voltage across capacitor).

You did the Uni-T bench meter, I'm sorry I have to ask here, between the Tenma 72-1020 and the UT804 (they are the same), which brand should I go for? The Uni-T or Tenma. sorry I forgot which video you did and where exactly right now. Uni-T seems to be the bigger brand though. And they probably have the same software because the manuals of each unit are exactly the same. Again sorry for the plug that doesn't have anything to do with this. I am watching this carefully and will have more to say later.
