Hi everyone, 2000, 1996, and the world championships 94, 98, 99, are the result of perfect preparation and great coaching. I want to thank Marty Aitken for his great professionalism as a rowing coach whom I dearly missed in 2001 and I was preparing for the World Championships by myself completely.

Fantastic stuff Xeno. Not just the rowing but the perspective on rowing, family, priorities and all this while showing one of the best rowing strokes ever. Just top notch!

I think as far as rowing, the 2000 olympics had certainly the most exciting races that I've seen. This race being one of the great races of that year. It makes me proud to row in switzerland when I watch these videos, and even more excited to get back on the water.

No worries, You are right too. I remember the race so well, as you can imagine. I knew when 3 and 4 (Porter and Hacker) fight for a medal that they could gobble up 2. and 1. place in their fury. While dieing, I knew I had fight for me life :-0! BTW I coach worldwide by doing stroke analysis and writing training programs. Getting in touch with me as you can see is not really a problem :-) Check my website and look me up on facebook. All the best, Xeno

7:05 I've wanted to try that knee break, just as soon as the power comes off to relax my quads. No success so far, can barely train consistently now that I'm past my student phase and into my 30s with a full time + job.

No no i was agreeing with you, it's just that everyone talks about waddells amazing last 500 in sydney, when as you've just shown xeno, porter and hacker were quite a bit faster over the last 500. you dying or not, that's still quite the gap to close im sure you'll agree! Wow, discussing with xeno, never thought i'd see the day :D

Ok, Porter and Hacker were sprinting, but to a degree it is an optical illusion, I was dieing at 1:46 if my memory servers me correctly, Waddell only managed 1:45. Porter and Hacker pushed but they were not faster than 1:42... Does that make sense or do we have to duke it out in the parking lot :-)

In your opinion what technical advantages did you have over Waddell? As far as I know at this stage he was around 100kg and pulled 5:38, whereas you were mid 90kg and pulling low 5:50's, so am I right to assume that you had better technique than Rob as you were toe-to-toe with him for the majority of the race?
