SINGLE TURBO CONVERTING MY FD RX7 - MY NEW TURBO!

You didn't ready the wrong, my Mazda FD RX7 RS is finally getting single turbo converted after the many money months of the car not performing as it should and having so many issues to do with the cooling system and Twin turbo Setup!
Without Tao from Hypergear, this would not be possible, it would be most likely many many more months if not years in the future before I pulled the pin to go single. If you want anything turbo related, definitely go check out hypergearturbo...

Ok so to answer a BUNCH of comments at once. Yes the RX7 was for sale. It was for sale so I could buy an already wide body RX7, if it didn’t sell I didn’t mind, if it did then I would be picking up an already single turbo already wide body fd ☺️I wouldn’t be getting out the FD game at all, so now the plan is to single turbo this and it’s going to be insane 👌👌

Hypergear turbos are great. Ran an atr45ss2 internal gate on my FG before upgrading to an atr46 external gate

1.06 is a good size for response on a bridgey. But there's no way you'll be running 18psi on pump unless you go water/meth otherwise you'll see what damage detonation does to a rotary and your exhaust wheel. I'd be keeping it at 13psi on pump or just put it on e85. You can run lots of boost and make big numbers with water/meth but get a tuner that knows what they are doing. Bov and screamer=no

I put a digital clock in a mates old rotor that had seen detenation, nice "dents" next to the apex seals lol!

@@ZacBaldy 14 is pushing it on pump. You never know what watered down crap you're going to get and you'll do 10k damage in a second. I'll stop back in 2 months for the rebuild. Might want to put a haltech in with some safety features and bin that power fc. It's not the 2000's anymore.

400hp in a car that’s just a tad over 1 tonne will be insane. Plus I don’t want to push any parts to their limit in fear of not being able to drive the car again. I’m more than happy to overbuild the car :)

Rotors don't like high boost on 98.. Hence why most run e85 Currently converting mine to e85

I reckon 410hp for a car that weighs just under 1300kg is plenty enough of power. I totally understand why you don't drive it a lot, because she's fragile unlike the other cars you own which could take the beating. Can't wait for it to be done so you can take it up the mountains, onto the track and maybe an interstate roadtrip in the future like you did with the FG, except you can't sleep in it at a Macca's carpark like you did nearly 2 years ago xD
