@jasminekittenstorm 3 жыл бұрын
You can ride your horse one pavement, just only walk or slow trot, never this fast. The pavement helps the horse's hooves to cut down a bit, this is why horses always hoof the ground because they are trimming their own hooves. but i agree with this not to rider horse on the pavement unless necessarily

I believe he was trying to gain more speed in the trot by kicking the horse but holding him back with the reins at the same time in order to keep the horse from transitioning in a canter. But yeah super dangerous to move with this speed on the pavement, only walking or a soft trot would be safe.

Ladies and gents, this is how horse abuse looks like. Concrete, sitting far back in the saddle - full weight of the rider directly on the horse back which causes a lot of pain, whip and a giant torture bit like a cherry on top. smh

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼...was just ready to make the same comment how abusive this racking community is, And they love their videos running their horses to the ground on the asphalt... some of the riders BMI is off, they’re too heavy for some horses and then putting that weight on the horses back is so painful. Cause you think the house can't carry a 200lb rider lol
@TheHyzze
@TheHyzze 3 жыл бұрын
@@jefferythurman6690 Mate, majority of decent sized horses can carry a 330 lb rider. The issue is, they shouldn't be doing it because it's animal abuse. That being said, saddle used and rider's possition as well is very crucial when it comes to horse's comfort, heath and balance. Usually, you sit up straight, majority of your weitht is focused on first and second third of the saddle and you are supposed to work with your back and especially legs to lessen your weight and help the horse with maintaining good balance. Person in this video (I'm not gonna call him a rider because he's not riding, he's getting carried on top of the horse like a sack of shit he is.) is sitting directly on the very back of the saddle, isn't using his legs to lessen the load therefore all of his weight is contantly bouncing directly on top of horse's spine which is very harmful and painful. Sidenote: A 200lb person can feel like 100 lb on the horse's back if they are riding properly and know how to work their body in the saddle while a 100 lb person who doesn't know how to ride can feel like they are 200 lb because they "ride" like a sack of potatoes.

Hi as me being in the racking horse industry let me correct you on some things, 1. Yes concrete is horrible I agree with you there and if his only play to ride is the road the he should have some boots on 2. This is what a proper work out is for horses, if your horse isn’t sweating this much by the end of your ride A. You don’t know how to workout a horse or B. You go to soft on your horse 3. About his seat if you sit straight up when your horse is fast racking/ pacing you’re gonna get launched out of the saddle leaning back is the most comfortable way to ride gaited horses, and my last thing to say is if you don’t know what’s happening then take the time to learn about it before hating

Normally horse videos are full of ignorant people in the comment section crying abuse when they don't know how horses work. This however, this is abuse. Rider has no clue how to ride, nor does he understand the danger of riding on concrete. Walking them on it for short periods of time is normally ok, depending on the horse, but this will injure the horse eventually. Everything in this video is wrong, wrong, wrong.

The rack or single-foot is an extremely difficult gait for a horse to maintain for long periods. The mare broke into a canter briefly for some relief, but she was quickly punished for it. At one point her passenger hit her with a whip for no apparent reason. I feel so much empathy and sympathy for this mare. She is beautiful and beautifully gaited, and trying her best to please. Walking Horse and American Saddle Horse riders lean on the horses' loins on purpose. Just shaking my head. :(

Why, why, WHY would anyone take such a fine animal, such as Nunu or Bloody Mary here, & ride them on asphalt or concrete, knowing it causes them tremendous problems, even when properly & newly shoed, for “likes?” This horse deserves nothing but kindness after this, as she’s apparently *VERY* forgiving & w/ a few adjustments (proper saddle, saddle placement & tack, learning how to properly sit & ride in the saddle, NEVER taking her out on concrete & no more making her go full throttle while yelling “whoa” & simultaneously kicking her, which even toddlers playing “horsey” w/ Dad or Grandpa understands it means “go!”) I hope Bloody Mary has healed & was treated far better than this in the past 5 years. This guy is an awful rider. He is using the reins for balance and somehow still can’t stay upright. The shank on that bit is huge! I don’t care how strong your horse is, you don’t need a huge shank. The pavement is really bad on the horses feet! It could ruin the horses hooves for life if the injury’s are really bad. This guy needs to not ride horses or take MANY lessons from a strict trainer that won’t allow bad riding

WTF?! YOU SHOULD NOT BE RIDING AT MORE THAN A WALK ON THE CONCRETE IT DAMAGES THEIR HOOVES!! THIS DUDE IS ALSO GIVING MIXED SIGNALS- HE WAS ALSO RIDING NEXT TO CARS AND THERE WAS CLEARLY NO SIDEWALK.. THAT IS DANGEROUS FOR BOTH THE RIDER AND HORSE. AND LETS NOT LEAVE OUT THE POOR POSTURE AND HOW HARD HES PULLING ON HER MOUTH!! PSA- This is abuse and it makes me so sick just looking as this and whoever’s filming shame on them for not being educated enough to stop this or knowing damn well what was going on and not having the decency to.

Crystal Garcia...since you say you don't know much..about horses well I kind of do...please completely disregard 95 percent of the comments...you are actually watching a near perfect ride for both horse and rider...funny isn't it...like the reins thing...to many cruel...that keeps focus..head straight...neck cocked and locked...saddle sit okay...in 75 % of the rest of the world...when a horse is in pace...they have been doing that for 10, 000 years...ask yourself...what would you rather have...140 lbs...solid...attached to your back...or like when English riders post...140 lbs crashing onto your back every other stride...on the concrete...once in a blue moon...not gonna hurt anything...every day. Whole another story...funny how that horse was loving every second of it...hey you sweat during a workout don't you???? Well trained athletes do

This Guy clearly doesn’t know how to ride a horse! This is wrong. He is leaning too much. The bit is tearing his face. And riding the horse on the pavement, could cause chipped hooves or worse. Horses arnt Machines. They have a mind of their own. They don’t have unlimited energy. While he says “WOAH!” He kicks the animal, making him go. To conclude, he don’t know how to ride a horse and you shouldn’t ever treat them like this

There are soooooo many things wrong with this video. 1. The horse's head is WAY too high up, can cause spine problems, and can cause a sway back 2. He is riding way to fast on concrete, which is putting too much pressure on the horses hooves, and can damage the hooves 3. He is way to far back in the saddle, which can be easily fixed, (lessons) 4. He is pulling way to far back on the reins, while kicking the horse on which is sending the horse mixed cues, which again, (lessons) I hope this helps inform people, and helps inform the rider. It is so hard to watch animals being abused by uninformed riders.
@som_angel
@som_angel 3 жыл бұрын
I do agree he is leaning way too far back yet at some points he is leaning the correct way. I was looking carefully at his hands on the reins, he wasn't pulling that hard actually. Now riding the horse like this on the concrete in dangerous. In the end he should have leaned forward a bit more not tearing the horses mouth so much to get the animal to slow down. If you want to call the leaning abuse watch walking horse and racking horse competitions. Also watch the standardbred racing. The riders are riding in the back however the horse is going the same way. We have a racer in our town that trains is horses legally on our roads, it's interesting to watch. However he does put the correct shoes on the horses to ensure they don't slip. This horse looks like it is barefoot. When riding a gaited horse going that fast in that running walk, you need to lean back not forward. Especially if you want to gain speed, putting weight towards the front with throw you off balance and throw the horse off. This is coming from someone who owns a Tennessee Walking Horse that is trained as a jumper. (Not saying I lean back when I jumped I just learned these things when first teaching my horse to go over poles and jumps). This horse is obviously gaited, if this horse was a quarter horse (or any other non-gaited breed) then I would be worried.

Asking here for a little education and genuine curiosity, I appreciate the responses calmly teaching me: But we live in an area with lots of Amish. They ride on the pavement all the time and the horses appear well cared for. Is there a way to safely ride on pavement? Padded shoes?
@stellad.5867
@stellad.5867 3 жыл бұрын
I've never experienced an area with Amish so I don't know their customs, but if the vet gives you the ok to be able to ride on pavement then its fine (also some horses have bad feet and if the horse doesn't where shoes on pavement it will where them down and can be extremely painful for the horse, its best to keep of roads when you can). Its also about the cars and all vets will recommend if you do ride near rode's, ride on quite ones.
@lilyschronce107
@lilyschronce107 3 жыл бұрын
Usually short rides (five minutes max) just walking is fine maybe a slow trot for just a bit, riding excessively or too fast can cause hurt the horse, if you want to do anything longer or faster ask your vet and farrier. They are experienced and will give you the best answer, had a horse with DSLD or dropped fetlocks vet and farrier both agreed he shouldn’t be ridden so we let his original owner take him (she was older and not able to ride him). Vets and farriers will know more than people online.

@Hailey Curbo you know why she was slowing down? Because he has constant harsh pressure on her mouth because his balance is crap and he's using the reins to stay on. So he's signalling her to stop and then forcing her to keep going. This horse in in so much pain it's difficult to watch
