WELCOME back to Sploosh MTB! Today we're at Lake Fairfax with the Minority Mountain Bikers (MMB) crew! This happened to be my first time ever at this spot and boy did I leave with a bang. These trails are amazing, the single track meeting up with an amazing skills park is something really worth the drive out to Virginia! Towards the end of the video, I meet the ground very violently so if you wanna laugh at that, enjoy, if not- viewer discretion is advised. Come hop on the bike with me as we take over Lake Fairfax with the MMB crew!

If you don't know the feeling that goes with that noise...you haven't ridden hard enough haha Fortunately I have that memory from about 20-25yrs ago when I was a little dumber in what I thought I could do. Glad you're feeling ok and look forward to the next video!

Yup. I know that feeling. I recently moved from Mesa,Az to falls church, va and spend a fair amount of time at lake fairfax and that jump line

Oh man you were hitting those jumps so well too. I just had my worst crash ever taking a jump lesson no less. Go figure. I was just too tired to be jumping and I yanked the bike on takeoff. Not good. Thanks goodness that I had knee pads and gloves. Ended up breaking my toe, hard hit on knee, big hip contusion, busted my ribs a bit, and road rashed an elbow. Three weeks later, I’m almost good. Some tendonitis still in the knee but everything else is ace. 👍🍻

Holy smokes dude glad you're almost recovered that sounds brutal! Yeah jumping is a high risk high reward part of MTB that I can't get enough of, I feel ya!

Honestly I would mount the GoPro to the helmet which eliminates the winded feeling

Yeah it does add that level of safety but the chesty makes for the perfect type of POV footage I like to get.

Chin mounted on a full face is the absolute best, but I was riding trail that day and just went with the half shell, which meant the chesty did me dirty😂

ive been on full face since i landed on my head a couple of years back... even in summer super air r is very nice. i highly recommend it 😎and it looks dope! @@splooshmtb

You could definitely take a dirt jumper here, I bet a bmx would go too, just a few rough spots in the dirt I'd be careful of!

How did I miss this?! What you said about getting used to trail and doing more feeling than thinking is so true and I never thought about it! But god that crash was brutal. That sound of the wind being knocked out of you is every mtber's nightmare.

Algorithm be wildin. But yeah man that feeling of flow is pure bliss on jumps. Yeah the audio got so much worse after I cut it, turns out the gopro makes being winded so much worse. 😂 thanks for watching man!

Korey's a professional without a doubt, dude absolutely shreds too! Honestly being my first time and just following the pack I don't really know but most people say they can get in the teens there! Ugh Sage bruises was my slight downplay, my whole chest was purple 😂

Dude glad you didn’t get badly hurt, that coulda gone way bad. GoPro Chesty can def be a detriment in a crash like that. I won’t wear it after I’ve gotten what I want on vid if I’m doing something close to the edge. On a happier note Lake Fairfax is awesome! It was fun before they built the jump line, it’s only gotten better since. Great mix of a bit of everything. That back DH section after you cross by the fields that starts along the perimeter fence is known as The Luge in Strava. One of my fav close to DC trails. At the end after you cross the stream if you go right you’ll cross it again and then there is a climb to the cricket field where you turn around and bomb the climb down that is really fun. You need to hit Fairland and the skills park there are well the singletrack.

This is exactly what we thought would happen. Guys getting hurt on KZbin on those new jumps. It's a public park and somebody's gonna want to sue us taxpayers eventually. I give the jumps less than 24 months before closure.

I don't see what the issue is here. It's use at your own risk, as with most things in mountain biking. I messed up, that's not anyone else's fault but mine. I enjoyed the jumps thoroughly and think they're built super well. I can't see any kid going out and blaming the builders/ jumps... now parents on the other hand I can't speak for. Riders get hurt all over the place at public parks, I don't think putting that on KZbin is going to cause any harm.

Also please understand that these trails are multi-use and that mountain bikes must yield to all traffic, including dog walkers, hikers, trail runners, children and horses. You are required to keep your speeds reasonable so leave the 170 enduro rig (rule #6) and eMTB's (rule #1) at home. Happy riding!
