Reunion dinner with his children has always been a special night for Mr. Lim. But this year’s dinner plans may not pan out. Find out why and what happens.

After so many years, this ad still gets me. Mr Lim's sorrow when he started eating at 4.08 was really hard to watch, yet that fatherly coolness and composure when his children came back. The fact that he carries his grandson first speaks volume of how much he actually loves his now adult children, probably reminded him of those days when his wife was still around and then the perfect line went, "Your Ma always said it is better to cook more than to cook less". Kudos to the actor and production. Simple and impactful.

I missed my reunion dinner cooked by my late grandma man.The food that she cooked can seemingly be even better then the ones prepared outside. The times had been missed, missed badly especially after she's gone to a better place but as a 27-year old guy,I will not mention that reunion dinners will be a must but deep within,I felt that family get-togethers are important, probably even more important than family meals. You see, meals can be done and forgotten but for me,there is only one grandma, missing you grandma. Love your parents are harder than loving your children. That's why Reunion Dinnner is very important when all our children are successful (hopefully) and abroad. Put ourselves in their shoes, at their ages, diminishing friends, diminishing relatives, deceased spouse, eventually all alone, surrounded by 4 walls day in and day out. While our generation onwards only think about ourselves, having fun like there's no tomorrow, racing in social media to see who has better life and more fun life. Always have excuses not to go home, the once-a-year-thing, either it's school, children, work, etc. Ponder.... our time will come soon. Our next generation will follow what we do today.

Happy for them and for you too. At least they're still alive to see your change and be happy together. Like how I wish I could be better too; because for me, they're gone, and it's too late for me to tell my father and parents-in-law that I loved them. Only managed to tell my mother that. If they want to talk to you, listen. I didn't return my mother's call thinking I could do it the next day.... She passed away the same night. That's my greatest regret.

The saddest thing when old age is loneliness. But many young people doesn't realize it. They just didn't picture it if this were to happen onto themselves one day when they are old and to know how it feels. Work can never be finish and holidays can be on anytime all year round. Must it be a reason for not returning home on this precious occasion to dine with our old parents or neglect them ? Just like an old Chinese proverb said "Old is gold, cherish the old ones at home". No one knows what is next, what will be tomorrow. Don't always assumed our old parents will be forever there for us. It could be the last time you see them, or this reunion meal could be the last one you're having with them. Cherish before it's too late. When we were young, they gave us every years of happiness and never neglected us, now we are all grown up, can't we spare out some time for them ? Time is more precious than anything in this world. Cherish and filial piety is the the greatest gift to repay our parents.
