Former shadow of themselves ...my receptivity may not be the same as it once was either. in the early 90s this was far from being my favourite Death Metal band, nonetheless ,in my mid/late teens I surely didn´t pass the chance to go see them live in some remote place in Portugal ...an ex Church turned club if memory serves. Boy ...was I in for a surprise ...it turned out to be one of the most intense concert experiences I´ve ever had ,only rivalled by the 1st time I saw Morbid Angel with the original line up ...and perhaps early Vader with Doc too. One way or another, tomorrow I´ll be judging from the front rows which might just chance the opinion above.

Diabolical Summoning, HATE, and Bastard Saints were the pinnacle of Sinister IMO. I lost interest in the band after Mike and Bart left the band. Aads drumming was also a big part of the Sinister sound as well but was lost when he left the drumkit for the microphone. A few years after the split I discovered Sinisters other band Houwitser and was pleasantly surprised to hear how similar in sound they were to the original Sinister. Mike on vocals, Aad on drums, Michael on guitar. Great stuff! They took a little hiatus but released an album recently in March or April (I think). Aad is no longer on drums but Mike and Michael are still in the band. I believe the album is titled Sentinel Beast. Cheers 🤘🏼
