Ramzi is one of the very few real Tai chi Masters and not a show man like so many seen on YT ( and even in the HME community) Thanks!

Can you expand on how this key quality of Najin coming from release can harmonize with resistance training?
@ramzi_nabulsi2 жыл бұрын
Maybe a lengthy discussion depending on what your goals are. If you want to improve your internal quality then do the internal work. Most people who do resistance training are intending to increase strength and hypertrophy (or maintenance of lean mass). So they should stick to the orthodox methods of doing that.

@@XinvictusX It takes two skills, Song and Ting. The ability to release and the sensitivity to know what's happening inside you and inside others.

Just expanding on Ramzi - I see the only way would be to practice resistance training with a constant focus on release and mechanically driven movements (so as not to unnecessarily introduce more tension and stiffness). At some point it seems that this becomes counterproductive to the goal of strength training, and so they remain two separate aspects of training. I believe strength training to be useful to enculture a feeling of stability and vitality in the body structure and prolong the natural entropy process, but it's very much different from the internal training which views power / force in a completely different way with a completely different system. Also the perceived strength and performance from a conditioned body via resistance training is not comparable to the level of strength and power from internal training, moreover the health and energetic benefits one gets - so from this perspective it would make sense to prioritise the internal aspect, but of course as Ramzi said it depends on your goals.

Tai Chi without some form of contact fighting skils CANNOT work in combat situations. After One aquires solid fighting skills One must empty that cup to learn Tai Chi. When the two are combine there can be Yin Yan. You're Welcome.

Considering taijiquan is a set of principles to be used in boxing/ combat you are correct. Taijiquan was traditionally taught after learning longfist boxing until the early 20th century. Yang Luchan was particularly insistent on this as were the next 3 gen....after that , nah it became tai chi. The reason I used Yang Luchan as an example is because nothing was called taijiquan until Luchan started teaching the Qing elite and a royal poet said Yang style boxing was a physical manifestation of the Taoist concept of taiji.

So what if duder just started punched you in the face repeatedly how will your "magic powers" help you then? Also wondering how much did you pay this duder to play along with your magic powers?

You're missing the point... 🤦♂️ Short-sighted people like you only see domination. But 99% of people who do MA don't even fight. There is much more to it that just beating people up. Get to know yourself and your body. We would clearly recommend another art if your sole goal is to beat people up. Do you do meditation so you can dominate others? Do you learn hypnosis so you can mug people?

If you watch Jet Li's movie "The Tai Chi Master", He learned Shaolin Kung Fu from a very young age so regular street fights were cake walks for him. He then adapted to Tai Chi. A way to free oneself from what was learned which were predictable. This means Tai Chi cannot succeed without first understanding (acquiring) some forms of physical fighting skills training. Then find a way to escape from what one learned. Most (fake) Tai Chi Masters failed because they did not have the fighting foundation. They practiced no contact Park Tai Chi which benefits inner health but would likely fail in combat.
