interesting ! :) my teacher also teaches us the "sink the flesh and let the bones stand" thing, but this is the first time I've heard such a straightforward explanation of how it affects the grounding and transmission of force through the body. thank you !

Great vid Ramzi! Appreciate your sharing! Question: I noticed Sifu Mizner in vids basically saying if you lift weights you can't get to the higher levels in Tajiquan. I lift weights to stay healthy with my body weight and strengthen the bones. I notice you have significant muscle and still do external arts too. So I guess I'm asking for confirmation that I still could lift weights and with the discover Taichi program online and coaching from instructors such as yourself I can still actually achieve real internal skills in Taichi while still hitting the gym. Your insights?

But these sentences helps practitioner to feel and imitate the actions and proper tension of body. I often hear such nonsense in aikido but I get it. It is hard to talk about inner feelings of body.

Been a practioner of Yang Taichi for 20 years and I don't understand all the mumbo-jumbo. The fact is his taking advantage of angles, hitting his flat angle posture and stepping between his legs while his standing straight. Always Angle your feet, bend the body slightly and keep distance.

While I don't agree with how many teachers of Chinese martial arts say to *totally* relax *all* the muscles (I agree with what they say, just not how they say it), Ramzi is simply describing Newton's third law in action. When you relax downward, while maintaining good posture, you send force down into the ground and there is an equal and opposite reaction, which (because you are relaxed and poised) you can re-direct into your opponent. In this video, Ramzi uses that to upset his partner's "root". Similarly, when your opponent pushes you, if you are relaxed and poised, you can use your whole body to let that force ripple along your relaxed form into the ground and then use the reaction to send it back to your opponent. I'm not sure how Newton's third law is "mumbo-jumbo".

There is a point of view with different concepts ' 20 years of form should provide a body that instinctively knows what to do '' I practised cheng min.ching form for about 5 years and was attacked and the guy flew across the room and was hurt and honestly I didnt know what I did '' I still practise the form with more release and the more I am not there the more progress there is '' I also practise sun lu tang form which creates more fa jing ' not everyone learns from explanation '' it should just happen ' either way we are all walking the path from life to death and should recognize the value of humility because humility allows for space to learn something and maintains harmony

It's all biomechanics. Chi is b.s, otherwise he could use it to shot put, long jump, etc... He's just shoving the guy with good biomechanics who also happens to be a lot smaller than him. No Thia Chi guys in the octagon. Might be good for health, but wouldn't bother learning it for fighting, even if you can shove well, your time is much better spent learning other things, wrestling for instance . In fact this guy is letting him get in a shove position. No arm fighting at all. Let's see that.

@ramzi_nabulsi
@ramzi_nabulsi 3 жыл бұрын
Indeed it would. The trouble is so few know this mechanic and it is not easily transferred. It would require a special stable of trainers and the right candidates to make it effective at an elite MMA level. Maybe check in on my sons in another ten to fifteen years :)

@@ramzi_nabulsi Thanks for the reply. I just read the description of you and it seems that you are already integrating Taiji and MMA. I once asked one of my Taiji teachers whether this was an effective martial art, and he said 'Forget it, if you want to learn to fight learn jiujitsu. If you want physical and mental well-being learn Taiji.' This was a student of Wee Kee Jin, who definitely does teach the physical dynamics that allow for powerful pushing - and indeed a lot of his senior students told me that not many Taiji teachers know that side of it. I suppose I had assumed that it would take too long to be able to release chi powerfully enough to be able to use it in a real fight against fit, strong young men. But I see that you have only been training Taiji for ten years, and already are able to release force from quite a deep level. That gives me hope! But I guess that one would also need to learn other skills such as footwork, feinting, groundwork etc.
