We keep telling ourselves it's ok to sink all these ships when in reality, isn't it just dumping unwanted trash?😢😭

Its for making reefs for fish sometimes

I agree with you. This only destroys the environment!

Yes, it's a cheap way of getting rid of old ships, breaking them up and recycling them is very expensive.

Seeing ships sink on camera is both shocking and surreal! It's a reminder of how powerful the ocean can be and how quickly things can go wrong at sea.

This is a good idea but next time to make it more exciting why don't you have a few divers or a Submarine go down beside the boats and show the people what it actually looks like at the bottom of the reef. That way people actually sees how it looks after it settles at the bottom of the ocean. Although there were a few of those boats that could have been repainted and put in a museum for school and college students to study.

I don't want the SS United States to suffer this!

I think I will use a different mode of transportation instead of a boat, I'm too scared.

Better off reusing or recycling the steel and aluminum. All this is trash in the ocean.

Idea of making artificial reef for underwater world, doesn't seem good, we re polluting sea, it is better t use it, by recycling process as it is doing in many countries, which provide job, and cheap material also recovering costly elements .....by dumping in water no chance to recover any thing....thanks for sharing nice movie......❤❤❤👌👌👌

Before a ship is turned into a reef, it is processed thoroughly to remove anything aboard that is considered a pollutant. It's an expensive and highly regulated process. Currently, the SS United States is sitting in Philadelphia, preparing to make it's way south to Alabama, where it will be stripped and cleaned , prepping it for being sunk off the coast of Destin, Florida as an artificial reef. The only thing that can be considered a pollutant would maybe be paint. Remember, the materials used to create metals, wood trim and paneling, and even glass are all natural elements that are harvested from the earth before being used for the construction of ships.
