Sinn's finest offering IMHO. Wearing my 856 UTC as I type. I never get tired of this watch. A true hidden gem in the watch world.

I own it. It's a beast and a beauty. You get so luch for the price: GMT, antimagnetic, date, 20ATM Waterproof, robust casing & glass. I wear it almost daily (keep coming back to it despite having other great watches to choose from), for more than 10 years now and still get only +10secs / 24 hours. It's an INSANE watch with INSANE quality.

@Golem.80882 ай бұрын
@@ClickSpringReview Actually more about +5/24h as we speak because it's still +10 since I measured and it was 48 hours ago, as if the system came to a sort of stabilisation. Which brings us close to COSC standards now. Thanks for the heads up anyway:)

Thats fair enough than but if its your everyday watch, I would look at getting it serviced soon to prevent any damage to the pivots as the oil will be on its last legs

I have a Sinn 556A and since yesterday also a Sinn 856 UTC. Both share the classic aircraft clock aesthetic so legibility is top drawer. The 556 is a touch smaller at 38.5mm whereas the 856 is a 40mm case size. The 556 can come across as small-ish but the 856 is a proper sized watch, that 1.5mm size difference is more pronounced than you would think it is. I'm glad I didn't go for the much larger 857 watches at 43mm case size, those must look like a clock especially on my wrist. I love the differences between them and think they both look awesome. I love the finish on the 856 and the metal bracelet, it also makes it a bit heavier than my 556 that has a non-Sinn black silicone strap. IMO you can't go wrong with either one of these. I love the 556, 856 and 857 range of Sinn watches. These are instantly recognisable as Sinn instrument watches but they do fly under the radar. I have only ever seen one person wearing a Sinn (dunno the exact model but it was a 12-3-6-9 one). Nice reviews of Sinn watches here BTW. I would love see a side by side size comparison of the 556, 856 and 857 watches... You are very lucky to have a shop near you carrying Sinn watches. The only Sinn I have seen in a shop was a Sinn 656 and that was years ago.

love your videos. quick question if you had to pick one watch over the other the Sinn 856 UTC or the Nomos Sky Ahoi which one would you choose. I'm planning on buying my first watch very soon.
@ClickSpringReview Жыл бұрын
Hi Sir , Thats a tough one as they are very different watches the Sinn is more a tool watch and the Nomos a more dressy model and cost almost double the price , If you wear suit most of the day I'll go for the Nomos but if not the Sinn , Another point when it comes time to service the watch any watchmaker (me included ) got work on the Nomos but the Sinn would need to be send to a Sinn AD because of the AR gas inside it 👍🏻

Here's a thought, Kp: the SW330 is actually quite a slim movement, unlike most traveller GMT calibres. Even the Grand Seiko Elegance GMT watches are unhealthily obese. While I share your view, I feel that I can accept the compromise considering that this watch has seriously decent water resistance. 🙂🍻

Hands down the best value on the market both 856/utc and 857/utc models. 80.000 a/m which is higher than your usual 4800 a/m that most brands proudly call anti-magnetic. All the other tech such as temperature resistance and tegiment tech. Allthough not necessary on a field watch, they also choose to give 200WR instead of 100 just to give that extra protection. No worries about bringing it out in wet conditions. When you look at other brands in this price range, who can even compete with this model?
@ClickSpringReview Жыл бұрын
Totally agree I can't think of any other watch offering this level of spec at a price anywhere close to the 856 Ragnar 👍🏻

@@ClickSpringReview I’ve seen the 857 it’s nice but bigger (almost 44mm with bezel), 856 is the goldilocks size, very versatile. One suggestion, if you could run the 20 minute (fast forwarded of course) test for the lume in your videos. You’d notice that Sinn markers will fade out pretty quickly compared to the hands (especially on their pilot references)

Hi Barry, is it me or are your Sinn reviews longer than the others? I could spend all day talking about how good they are, frankly, so I wouldn't blame you. This 856 is pretty good, actually. The Sellita SW3XX series kicks serious butt, particularly after Sinn has regulated them. Would the 857 be better? I don't know, but the case looks really comfortable for a lot of wrists. The Ar capsule technology is good, having to send it back to Germany for maintenance, bad. I'll have to speak to the team at TWR about this. My U50 Tegiment performs beyond any reasonable expectation, so I can well understand your enthusiasm Barry. Mutterings within the German watch community suggest that Sinn is becoming a tad too greedy in its pricing which is starting to turn people away from the brand. Just saying... However, I really like this piece, in common with just about everyone here. Clearly we are all gentlemen of impeccable taste... thanks Barry, LG Bob 🍻
@ClickSpringReview Жыл бұрын
Hi Bob , when it comes to Sinn I can waffle on its true lol , TWR do have the kit to work on the AR watches so no problem there , The prices have been going up but so has ever bodies I believe . When it comes to the 856 I can't think of any other in its price range which can match it ? there maybe but I cant think of one matey 👍🏻
@robertlock6041 Жыл бұрын
@@ClickSpringReview I think you're right about the 856 Barry, but there is consternation among our German brethren regarding the prices of limited editions. So: the Ar capsule isn't a problem, the 856 is both capable and tough (I mean, Tegemented case, 200m water resistance, GMT functionality, a decent movement and comfort on the wrist) and it looks seriously cool. Perhaps you should be a brand ambassador: "Sinn: the brand favoured by watchmakers..." with a picture of you holding one. Just a thought! 😉 Have a good weekend Barry, LG Bob 🍾🥂🍰
