Sinn UX GSG-9 Overview

Got this beautiful Sinn EZM2B UX GSG-9 in on a tegimented bracelet and felt like going over it as there isn’t much on this watch online let alone most of the Sinn collection of divers.

This watch says “designed by engineers” - Rolex says “designed by jewelry store.” I had a Sea-Dweller, would pick the UZ every day of the week.❤️❤️❤️

The UX is epic honestly. Only reasons why I sold mine was the shit clasp and subpar Lume.

I picked up mine yesterday when we visited my wife's Mom in Frankfurt. I dropped off my EZM 1 for service because it hasn't been serviced in 13 years! This is my 3rd Sinn. It was a tossup between this one and the EZM 12. I made the right choice. Super readable, very clean dial. The Sinn staff is super nice, so if you are making a trip to the Frankfurt area and like Sinn, stop by. Plenty of sightseeing too.

Hi, have one of these with the cowhide strap in my basket and am ready to purchase. Only have one slight reservation in that I do some extreme sports, most notably downhill mountain biking. I'm a little worried that being fluid filled, the watch won't cope with rapid a fairly severe vibrations. Can you offer any advice in this regard? Great video BTW.

Don’t worry about any vibrations getting to it. It is a HAQ movement which already makes it more resistant than a mechanical/auto movement. The oil filled is completely filling the volume of the watch so it’s not like the oil is sloshing around. It’s there as it’s an incompressible fluid and takes the UX to its depth.

The UX is definitely a better watch IMO. Both are similar but the HAQ+Sinn Tech+Oil filled vs the automatic in the DSub2. Plus I prefer having a bracelet and currently Damasko doesn’t have a bracelet option.

@@djpharoah7XL thanks so much for response, I find the luxury feel is the Dsub2 especially on the nato by damasko... the Dsub2 is designed to last and has so much patented tech even down to the under water crown the detachable stem, is just as tough, don't you think it's less maintenance in the long run?... I also own both, love the accuracy of the UX..

The UXs have been increasingly hard to get because the Swatch Group is not allowing non Swatch Group to use their movements. That is why (I believe) the new U50 Hydro has a Rhonda movement. Not as good!

Someone else had said that the air bubble develops in cold temperature for diver orientation? Ever hear of that?

Eventually the oil breaks down and air will form inside the case causing a bubble. I’ve heard of this happening towards its end of life before a service

Out of all the Sinn watches you have procured over the years, which do you believe had the best lume? Just curious.

Best lume from Sinn models comes surprisingly from their pilot EZM 9/10 and the LE EZM1.1 watches. Having owned every diver included the U1 Professional LE - those really stand out if you’re a lume junkie like me.

Right now I am leaning heavily toward getting a UX S and pairing it either with a 757 DIAPAL(if I can find one), 900 DIAPAL, 103 Ti DIAPAL, or 857 UTC TESTAF (non-Lufthansa edition.) Do you happen to have any experience with the lume on those? From what I've read the 900 DIAPAL apparently has rather good lume, but personally I am more partial to the 757 DIAPAL/857 UTC TESTAF. Looking forward to more of your Sinn videos in the future.

Those modes you mention have similar if not the same lume as the U series divers. 👍🏼

I’ve since moved on from Sinn. They were great but at this point too many compromises and way too many better spec’d options out there.

They’re great tool watches. Get the tegimented version whenever you can. The compromises would be the cheap clasp (not milled, no tool less adjust and cheap feeling) and along with the Lume (for tool watches they’ve got sub par Lume imo).
