I'm an American, and caught this movie on Netflix, and I thought it was one hell of a movie. It was put together so well, and was a beautifully made movie. I am now a big fan of the producer, and all the actors, and will start following any movies that they do in the future.

I'm with you there, pal. I had to look Clara Luzia up as soon as the movie was over. I just happened to run across this movie by a stroke of luck and wow! It isn't often that a cover is better than the original but she blows Nina Simone out of the saddle! Hella movie and song!

Well the producer just organized the money but the movie was the Director´s Baby so to say. He co-wrote the script based on a novel and directed the film and decided to make it look like a Western movie..

Diese "Sinnerman"-Version von Clara Luzia schlägt die populäre Version von Nana Simone um Längen! It lifts the incredibly fascinating Tobias Moretti movie to a higher level. Is Clara the tyrolean speaker of the comments, too?

Boring. From a musical point of view you have one drummer who randomly hits his drums when he is bored and the guitar player still tries to figure out what he newly learned in his second guitar lesson he had yesterday

the only good thing in the moovie is two songs from the soundtrack. I can't believe that Germany and Austria have thought that they could make western moovie. anyway. Listen, but do not watch it.
@Sampersik9 жыл бұрын
It is not really a western movie, but more a true story about the hardly times in the middle-west-europe between 1800-1900. The classical us-western is a complete different subject refer to this european-"western". This type of movie will show the deep and dark fates in all the people and no one of them is a hero.

Christian D Des sans de Russen - koa Ahnung aber a große Klappn.
@johnsmith-mv8hq9 жыл бұрын
Christian D In many ways it is a Western. It features all the archetypes and motifs elemental to 90% of Westerns - gun fights, the traditional revenge motive, a tough frontier setting removed by sheer physical situations into a space which is dislocated from the usual cultural and civilizing norms - a distance which means that any true and equal justice is hard to come by. A distjuncture which allows the mighty to reign supreme and the weak are their helpless victims. Of course, many of the settlers on the 19th century Western frontier were German, Dutch, British and Russian. So it was interesting to see all the elements of what we now think of as traditional features of the west (the hoe-down, the polka-esque music, the clothing, designs of the wooden buildings, etc), literally in their truly original setting. I really liked Dark Valley. The novel use of location and quality of the performances really elevated it. :)
