The four seconds that made this, the image of her hand reciprocating the hug, and then the flood of emotions on the face of the other girl. In four seconds or so you’ve shown what it means too be human, well done man well done. I haven’t been hugged in many years..I felt that emotion she had with that hug, how good that must’ve been. That’s how I know this is perfect

There were four modules launched at the beginning, one sleeper in each, 2 girls, 2 boys, in total, I would imagine. At 14:39 the dark haired girl looks at the animal claw damage on the exterior wall and her hand goes to her belly (2nd time) and it looks like she is pregnant, probably from the 4th explorer that presumably got mauled and killed by the wild animal thing. The connection was his possession, that black plastic light-saber-like looking tool, which the blonde haired girl retrieved from near his corpse. The doll represents children, procreation, a basic drive in humans (and in all living things). Play with dolls, play in general, is practice for the real thing, the practice of situations and unfamiliar emotions. The blond girl looks at the drawing of the couple hugging in her scrapbook, in conjunction with the doll (baby), on some intuitive instinctive level, she understand the connection. There is a lot going on here, without words. Well done.

Figured that out all on your own, did ya?.... Lol. What I figure is, at first, the guy was probably thinking to himself "now that the other guy is dead, I've got his girl, plus this new blonde, all to myself. And, if the baby is a girl, he'll have 3 girls to himself. I'm the luckiest guy in the world". After a few months he'll be thinking "why did the other guy have to die and leave me here alone with two crazy bitches and a screaming baby? I must be the most unlucky guy in the world"..... Lol.

@seraphimgracesantiago-gonz8219

Not sure however, I think that is the whole point, objective for these short films. I haven't seen too many, enough to guesstimate they are all post apocalyptic. So this being noted it is in fact anyones conclusion as to ,what, why and allowed me to extrspulate ( this shall be most interesting, what ppl hurl at me with words I don't speak lightly, from experience, perhaps just that in itself the words in quotations , will make the indecisive wanna be,s quiet " You think?? Nahhh Proceeding on it leaves many possibilities all which unless you are extremely empathetic, (an empath) are less to be desired. Welcome to the age of the lost children. We have been lost since modern man entered the so called "modern age" I think that it shows that people are mindless, arrogant so much that they destroy without consequence , act without remorse, and repeat with no compassion or mercy and these are just a few, observation, assessment, collateral damage a neccessary evil...... Well what should I know I've only existed since the beginning These short movies..... leave everything to you °°°°°

@@beverlybalius9303 my conclusion and I don't want to leave a spoiler alert for people that read the comments to decide whether to watch or not is that this is very symbolic. And most apocalyptic, post-apocalyptic short stories leave the reader to make their own decision. It's a matter of perception, and many people perceive things in many different ways, the title Eden basically is symbolic of a new beginning. Eden was where Adam and Eve started according to the Bible that is. They started or they began to have a form which God gave them he lived in a paradise kind of Garden of Eden is also extremely symbolic. I don't want to draw this comment out too much further, it's interesting enough and without spoiling it for others, the girls alone and as it continues it's a very apparent what this is all about. post-apocalyptic I'm sure you know that it means after the world has been destroyed Human start over again. message many of the movie's leave The Watcher or the viewer to decide in their own mind as with most post-apocalyptic movies how they perceive the ending will be and it's usually very similar but very different

Exceptional film. Very well done VERY well and beautifully acted by the Stunning Emma Liegler I would literally watch anything if she was in it. Please someone put this extraordinarily talented women in a movie or series. I'm not sure how I feel about the lack any lines (the spoken word) in this film. It works as it is. Somehow just does not ring true that she never speaks. People who are alone do talk to themselves, especially after TWO years alone. That is just basic human nature. The only reason I can think of as to why they would not talk is if the human voice attracts the monster.

This is really good for student work. The visuals in particular were done really well. Colors gave big mood and camera angles and lighting were really good although i think there were some scenes where I would've liked more light on the people's faces. I think the pacing is a little slow. it's unclear to outside viewers who aren't working on the project what is going on, and if you wanted the entire short to not have any voice lines it could've been portrayed in other means. There's a lot of scenes that drag on without anything significant really happening. I feel like if the purpose of the long scenes was to invoke emotion, it might've been better to create that emotion by just having stuff happen in the scene, that way your audience doesn't lose focus. In particular, I feel like more could've been portrayed by emotions on the actors faces. The scene where the dude stabs the girl then instantly helps seems awkward because the guy's face doesn't really reflect that he made a mistake or wants to help, etc. Some of the transitions seemed a little off. I would've liked to see a fade to black when the woman falls asleep so it's more dramatic when the gets woken up by the sound. Speaking of sound, I think the subtle sounds should've been louder (e.g. crunching of the leaves when stepping, sounds when things are being picked up, clothes rustling) to build tension. The entire film felt like it had a massive budget and looked really professional honestly, great work!! This is all personal opinion and constructive criticism and i'm not really qualified to speak on this stuff by any means so i could easily be wrong but maybe it'll help you improve :)

Ok. I’m no genius but here’s my take on this short--even though not asked for. Great job by the way. Well done. So this is about human innate instincts. To survive-eat sleep water shelter. To reproduce. (The pregnancy) Longing for companionship-a mate, and not just a mate, but a fruitful productive protector (the fur) (the spear she had). Longing for acceptance. (Searching for the other individuals in pods). Evolution-always exploring and searching and wondering. And then we stumble upon our emotions. (The long companionate hug at the end. The blond looking at beauty and the beast not understanding what or why she was in need of or looking for.) please take notice the love expressed at the end was was that of compassion for the loss of life and the hardship that comes with it. It was not sexual in nature. Real pure empathy. This short was about human basics and nothing else. Perhaps why language and vocal comms left out. This is a snap shot of early human history-just presented in a way that today’s newly evolved people can understand. I’m 48 years old and well educated at one of America’s finest institutions. I learned about early human life and evolution in the 70’s and 80’s. There was minimal minimal technology then. Just solid understanding. But I have a son that is 18 y/o. Can you imagine what it would be like for him to sit down in class one day and be presented human instinct and evolution as it was presented to me? No way!!! Thus this short was presented to today’s youth in a manner in which it better understood. But again-I’m no genius.

It's evident to me that the first girl was longing for a child, and the second girl had lost hers. Being needed and needing someone is part of our nature. Like a part of our DNA speaking to our most badic need.

Personally, I enjoy Scifi, Time Travel, Futuristic of all types. One thing I both disliked and liked in this film was the lack of dialog. We need more of these silent words films to focus on the unspoken. Sometimes too many words just ruin it. Keep that focus. 💚

Mr Plett; Yes and yes a most interesting movie. From the very start I was intrigue by the subject. Little did I know at first from a low orbit the ship is occupied by a young woman who's automatic setting begin the decent to earth. Then... What? Interesting as the story unfolds after that.

As much as I love these SciFi shorts it really bothers me when they get something as simple as a voice wrong. When she inserts that "cartridge"? it (speaks) to her with such a robotic voice. This is supposed to be the year 4729 yet the voice synthesizers are less realistic than Google Assistant? C'mon that's just absurd. 😑 Also, it seems counterintuitive to hide in a cave, yet leave something outside of the caves entrance that announces her presence.

It's 4729 but the satellite wasn't launched that same year. The movie doesn't tell you when the human restoration program began, but you can infer that it was MUCH earlier than 4729, at some point in time when humanity was becoming extinct. The voice would be programmed at the time of the design of the satellite and capsules etc., so I would guess sometime in 21st century based on your assessment of the quality of the voice bot.

Oooook…. What the heck was that? So, she lands and has a professionally printed one page map of the exact area where she touched down? There is a serious need of a plot here.

I could too, lived alone for some time now. I talk people at work, but I haven’t felt that human compassion in many years. I never thought about it before watching this. I haven’t been hugged in years..seeing this makes me remember how one small thing can change everything. Never seemed to understand the impact a hug can have, untill I think about how long it’s been and how grateful I would be to have one

Every day she looks at the picture that resonates most to her; two people embracing one another. She tried it with the doll in hope of feeling less alone, but was unsuccessful. The equipment she found was next to a decomposed corpse, the missing guy from the more populated camp. This tells us how long she has been alone. That hug was epic.

So I loved the elements of the tribal mask, return to old ways like the use of furs and the cinematography was beautiful. There were some really lovely composed shots. I'm interested as to why the characters wouldn't try to speak to each other? Was this done as you wanted to show how you could convey story without words? Or as you weren't confident in the actors? Or another reason? All in all an amazing piece of work, I just would think it would be natural to try to communicate
