Sinosaurus Showdown!! - Carnivores Hunting Highlights

Something I really like with the MEE, that I think has been demonstrated in your Fallen Kings Highlights, is how both the addition of variants and the recent updates to the gathering mechanics have really changed the Carnivores gameplay cycle. In older standard mods (something I've recently re-experienced with Boreal Isles), it's more about point-grinding and 'casual' hunting, knowing exactly what you are hunting each time repeatedly with the end goal of unlocking everything. Fallen Kings and other MEE mods feel more like Creature-Collectors - trying to "catch 'em all" for the trophy room, with hunts being very selective as to what you take back with you and what's worth your ammo. There's no easy guarantee you will 'unlock' all the mod's content - if you want to hunt a super-rarely spawning map ambient or 1-in-100 albino variant, you'll need to be both lucky and prepared for whenever that opportunity arises because it isn't a certainty it will happen again soon. That, combined with the inherent unpredictability and randomness of MEE hunts means you're always active, eyes-peeled for that one elusive critter you need to complete your collection. I certainly appreciate both styles, but I definitely have a higher appreciation for the new style. I'm a trophy fanatic already, so attempting to complete a gallery with the MEE mechanics has me frothing at the mouth.

What a superb analysis, I agree 100%. Definitely appreciate both styles, but these collector-focused MEE mods are exactly what I always wanted from Carnivores growing up, so I'm right there with ya!

Great video as always! The Tactical Shotgun did its job well! lol Also for the Beast of the Everglades, it only spawns at dawn towards the middle of the map.

I wouldn't recommend swimming in this map, there are far deadly creatures in the waters. Also I do wish you encounter the behemoth in the next map

@SaurianTarget they still have some bugs. But still a fine addition to the maps. Hopefully the behemoth lives up to the expectations in the next map. Also you should do the night hunts without the night vision mod

I use an art app on my iPad called Procreate! If you've got an iPad, I'd highly recommend it

@@SaurianTarget perhaps I should rephrase: I’m mainly referring to the custom screenshots you feature in a lot of showcases (dinosaurs hunting/fighting each other and other stuff you can’t get in-game). I was wondering how you pull _those_ off.

Ah, gotcha! So first, I'll storyboard what I want the thumbnail to look like so I know what I'm looking for. Then, after a lot of location scouting, I'll go take an in-game screenshot for the background, then I'll go into C3dit and take pictures of all the dinosaur models I need in various poses, then photo bash them together into the poses I want. After everything's composited, it's just a matter of getting the lighting, shading, and ambient effects right!
