Sinthan Top - Daksum | Kashmir Safarnama - Episode 2

Sinthan Top is a mountain pass and a popular tourist destination located between Jammu and Kashmir. It is known for its beauty and wonderful tourist attractions. The place is fast growing as one of the top tourist destinations, emerging for mountaineering, trekking, and skiing.
Daksum is a natural scenic spot located near Sinthan Top at an altitude of 2,438 meters. We visited both these places during my recent road trip to Kashmir. It was the second day of the trip and was captured in the video posted. I hope you like it !!!

Nice Video. My favourite route is Srinagar-Sinathan top-Kishtwar-Bhadarwah (Padri pass)-Patnitop-Jammu or vice-versa and return. Glad to see the hero.

Sir. From Patnitop to Kokernag OR Patnitop to Pahalgam/Srinagar & then Kokernag? Which would be better? I'm thinking of Patni to Koker. Overnight halt at Koker. Then next day Daksum Sinthan top. Verinag & achbal en route to Pahalgam/Srinagar. What would be estimate cost from Patni to Koker? Shared cabs are also available?

It would be better to cover it on the way from Patnitop otherwise you will again have to travel all the way back. Shared cabs would be tough to find, better to go with a private cab .... not sure about the costs from Patnitop though, sorry

Hi Mr Vagis Khan. We are planning to drive own vehicle (Thar) from Mumbai in September 2024, and taking input from your Kashmir Safarnama videos, to plan our trip. I had couple of questions. (1) Do we need to get any permit to drive own vehicle (maharashtra registration) from Achbal to Sinthan top? If yes, where to apply for permits? (2) From Sinthan Top, can we drive down to Kishtwar-killar udaipur-Tandi? Does that route require permits? (3) how is road condition from sinthan top to Kishtwar? (4) we want to visit Bangus valley and Lolab valley. Are there stay optipns there? Would highly appreciate your inputs. Thanks a lot. Nancy Nagwekar mumbai

Hello Nancy, 1. No permit is required. 2. Yes you can and no permit is required for that either. But keep in mind, that road is a difficult one and a bit tricky as well, famously known as the cliffhanger route 3. Mix of good, bad, and ugly 4. In Lolab Valley, you can find Gov rest houses to stay. There is no stay option in Bangus Valley, it would have to be a day trip or you can stay for the night in Kupwara. There are two hotels there but kind of bad and a little Shabby. Keep in mind that you need a permit to go to Bangus Valley and while you are there, you may as well plan for Keran and Teetwal if time allows. If you are short on time, at least go to Keran, you can't miss that.

Sir, do you have any idea about the forest rest house available in pahalgam? How are they ? Do they provide good facilities. I found one in Oreva (Maharaja Hut) but not sure if heater etc will be there or not. Please advise
