di magpataka dzae dili party ang meaning sa Sinulog but an act of Adoration and Worship kay Lord through dancing. Sinulog came from the word "sulog" (wave/current/flow). Kaya may dance na two step forward, one step backward na para kang naglalakad sa maalon na dagat or malakas na ilog.

+Marc Geonzon As I see it, he didn't mean any harm by stating out his experience in the Philippines. You can't blame him not being able to appreciate his experience for getting robbed or pick pocketed (Which is sad to say it happens all around Philippines and you can't deny it). Who does the pick pocket aim for? especially during such festivity? Of course people who are not from the area. They take advantage on the opportunity to steal, which for sure he isn't the only one who got robbed of his belongings. Not just foreigners but locals as well experience the same thing. For us locals we get pissed and move on, we know our country is like that so we stay alert. Foreigners know their own way of protecting their belongings but sometimes its hard to concentrate when you are in a new area and enjoying the views, locals and for something like sinulog festival. You can't help but enjoy the moment. He is not dissing cebu or how prominent your family is, or the locals. He is merely stating his experience. Retaliating in such manner does not help both sides. Every country has their faults. You cannot blame people for getting robbed or pick pocketed and say "Well you should have been careful". Especially when they went there for their first time. Bad things happen no matter how safe you are. I feel bad he had to experience that and wasn't able to enjoy the beauty that is Philippines. I feel bad that instead of understanding his situation and where he is coming from we retaliate and not give a chance of explanation. We do not need name callings or judgement. I apologize he had to experience that but there is still a lot of things to explore in the beauty that is Philippines.

+Robert Lovelle Rooks Somehow he took it personally. I mean, who wouldn't? When you said "Thank you Cebu" you struck something in us sensitive Cebuanos. You could have just said "Thank you", after all you really do not know if the guy who robbed you is from Cebu. The Sinulog celebration is probably the biggest in the country and it attracts all kinds of people from the religious faithful to party people and all kinds of undersirables. I live in another country now but when someone says something bad about Cebu my heart pounds so hard I could hear it myself. I now live in probably the world's most powerful country but thieves and robbers abound here, man. I'm pretty sure where you're from you also have the same problems. They're everywhere...from the poorest country to the richest. As for the guy who claims to be coming from a prominent family...well, we have so many of those kinds there too. But they just come and go...rich today, poor tomorrow and some try to hold on to the belief that they're still up there in the company of their old acquaintances. But he was right about one thing though, when you go around Cebu wear old shirt, pants and shoes..wear NO jewelry...leave your wallet in your hotel and keep your money in your FRONT pocket. And by the way, IF and WHEN you visit the Philippines again, the first places to avoid are the cities especially downtowns unless you're looking for cheap fun.
