you don't know me. But I want to give you a hug. I understand it. Thank you so much. I love that you explain why everything on your graph is labelled how it is. Thank you

When do you figure out if there is a phase shift or not?

We would be happier if you could have written the second question completely with the parts. Thank you

How did you get inverse of Cos ( 4 / 30 ) with an answer of 97.66 ... when I put that into my calculator .. inverse of Cos ( 4 / 30 ) .. I got 82 . 3377 .. where am I going wrong ?
@madmaths7895 Жыл бұрын
It is because you are taking the cos inverse of negative 4/30. I forgot to write the negative in the next line. My bad. But the answer remains 97.66.

thanks very underrated! also on an exam u would likely be allowed to use a calc for finding height and specific time? right?
@madmaths78954 ай бұрын
Yes, usually you just use a calculator.

The question did specify to use a sinusoidal function, so does not that imply using a transformation of h - sin(t)?
@madmaths789511 ай бұрын
Sinusoidal functions refer to both sine and cosine functions!

How did u get 36 as the vertical shift, wouldn’t it be 6 since that’s the initial starting point ?
@madmaths789510 ай бұрын
The vertical shift is the distance from the axis (or midline) to the x-axis. Not from the lowest point.

aren't you supposed to use 2pi instead of 360
@rr.richie6 ай бұрын
thats what i thought
@VadikMironoff4 ай бұрын
pi = 180, 2pi = 360 degrees. They're interchangable.
@JonBonStomp4 ай бұрын
2pi is in radians, 360 is in degrees. He's currently using degrees.

where did he get the 40 from when he was doing the feriis wheel last question
@madmaths789510 ай бұрын
I was just showing that you could be asked a follow-up question like "when is the height 40ft?" 40 would be given to you in the question.

With no calculator

That would require a calculator for most people, myself included.
