Thanks, Nadir, for posting this video. Siobhan is really effective at making complex ideas succinct enough for the lay person, without compromising the depth of complexity. A reall skill.

Hi I'm 61 years old and have genes for high Lp(a). It was 403mg/l in 2012 and 400mg/l this summer. Yesterday I had a scan and feared a dead sentence. However the outcome was quite positive. I have very litle to no plaque. Only 3% at my age have less plaque I was told. My cardio age was judged to 34-39 years! I'm quite healthy and my triglyceride have been low the few times measured, which should hint I'm metabolic healthy. Maybe that's what matters? Not the level of cholesterol or Lp(a)? I will not take any drug to reduce my Lp(a).

What type of scan (for plaque) did you get?
@sandydavis70552 жыл бұрын
Some scans don’t detect the soft plaque which is more dangerous. Low carb, low inflammatory diet is good. Yes, low triglycerides and high HDL are good.

As a mom.of a kid with frequent relapsing Nephrotic Syndrome, thankfully steroid sensitive, when her total cholesterol was 800+ at diagnosis, Ldl 400, Tri 190s, HDL 190s, I knew they would try to push statins. For many of these kids, they do! Neohcure says to feed them canola and sunflower oil, while avoiding saturated fat from.beef yet coconut oil is ok. Again, thanks to my long time listening to LCHF keto talks, I knew to not listen. Nephcure also says whole grains, lots of fruit and vegetables. Supposedly lower risks of Ldl a (is it lpa?) the supposedly dangerous tiny ldl. Again, her elevated triglycerides, her elevated glucose (even though we were LCHF at diagnosis), told me her vacation at grandmas of bread and potatoes set this off. I suspect undiagnosed celiac too. Or at least a serious gluten sensitivity. Anyways, she has continued to grow beautifully, healthy terth, despite near non stop steroids for over a year. No steroid weight gain, she even wears skinny jeans (when in remission obviously). Her scurvy symptoms went away within a 2 weeks with 5 to 15 grams vitamin c a day. Never stop Occasional does of melatonin with zinc (M is an zinc ionophore. Dr Paul Marik C, M, and Z sepsis protocol) Some Lugols iodine, Dr David Brownstein And, L-carnosine, per Dr Paul Mason for proteinuria. Also, even with steroids, Carnosine treated the slight steroid belly. As each supplement was started 2 to 4 months apart, I could see distinct benefits. Carnosine is also , based on what I have seen, complimentary to steroids and preventative of side effects And, MCT powder or oil for steroid induced Alzheimer's. While we try too get off the roids, at least she is presenting atypical. Perfect blood pressure. Perfect sugars. perfect growth. perfect teeth. perfect skinny jeans weight. Oh yeah, beef, beef, and a side of beef Dr Sarah Huen Dr Jose Souto

My boy was diagnosed with Nephrotic syndrome 6 years ago when he was 5 years old. 4 times of relapse every year, on two different types of steroids all year round for 4 years. He developed a moon face, brittle teeth and body hair growth. We had to stop that treatment and we got him on an immunosuppressant, Retuximap for 1 year. Thanks to Corona he has stayed home and hasn't had a relapse for almost a year. I have known that his immune system has been off for some reasons. He has a lot of food sensitivities resulting in skin rashes and breathing difficulty. I will have a close look at what you have done for your daughter. Thank you for sharing.

I really appreciate your knowledge! It totally rings bells and wonder where to look and find links to FH (what I have) and LCHF dietary requirements? After 100;s of hrs of research I'm at a dead end on this... Meanwhile I believe and practice LCHF

why would she eat honey? it’s pure glucose.
@Wedgylord4 жыл бұрын
I always thought honey has around the same amount of fructose and glucose. Did you perhaps mean "pure sugar"?
@pluccp80934 жыл бұрын
It was a high carb experiment! The whole point was to get carbs up and fat down. There's some things that have been brought to my attention now that suggest it may not work well for lipid experiments though.

I see Dr Paul Saladino author of "The Carnivore Code" eats honey. I think the rational is that our ancient ancestors had access to it and therefore we have evolved to eat it.
@pam00774 жыл бұрын
Carbs such as from honey or fruit are not bad if you're metabolically healthy. What's the best way to become metabolically healthy? Follow Dr. Paul Saladino's principle recommendations, avoid all plant oils (aka vegetable oils) like the plague, and eat plenty of nose-to-tail animal foods. It changed my life.
