The Australian soprano, Siobhan Stagg, graduated from the University of Melbourne before commencing her career as a Young Artist at the Salzburg Festival and at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.Soon she made debuts at the Hamburg State Opera, Berliner Philharmoniker, Bayerische Staatsoper, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Dutch National Opera (Amsterdam), BBC Proms and London’s Royal Opera House Covent Garden, among others. Her USA debut came at the Lyric Opera of Chicago in the title role of Massenet’s Cendrillon and her Australian operatic debut was as Mélisande in 2018. For six years, she was a principal soloist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Highlights in her career to date include Mélisande at the Opera de Dijon, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier at Opernhaus Zürich, a return to the Salzburg Festival for Mozart Matinees and a debut at Festival Aix-en-Provence in Romeo Castellucci’s staging of Mozart’s Requiem.
She is heard here in Richard Strauß's "Vier Letzte Lieder" with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra under Jaime Martín. The performance was in the Hamer Hall, Melbourne, on February 25th, 2023.
