Hobby tip for you, Reading glasses. Cheap, a variety of magnification levels, and readily available at big box stores, pharmacies, and grocery stores. I go for 2.5x myself

I recently bounced half a knife blade off my eye. Thankfully no injury beyond a little red on my eyeball, which healed up in a day or so. We think that the back of the blade, where it's blunt, was what hit my eye. Interestingly I was wearing a chainmail glove, so I was certainly thinking about using the PPE that I have access to, but I just forgot to put on the goggles that were within arms reach of me at the time.

When I first swapped to reaper from craft paints, the color names helped a lot in picking what color to paint, say, wood on a shield. I do like having the more neutral color descriptions now, but as a beginner painter, having leaf green vs grass green was pretty useful, unlike we scorpey green is

Mold making is a field that people can always improve in. I can see different companies have significantly different results using the same siocast machine.

In Scotland, a Ghillie is a sort of outdoorsy servant that assists the wealthy on stag or pheasant shooting trips. It's not a kobold as far as I know.

I know that there's a kickstarter i backed - the Trench Crusade one - that wound up delayed on delivery by about a year because there was a shortage of the Siocast plastic. Fortunately that's fixed but i dont know what was going on there.

And if wanting more fun, look at the colors of things made by fashion designers/clothing companies. I used to work with a place & saw some completely insane ones (that tell you nothing about the color) like Alpha, black light heather, stealth gray, sundown, midnight heather navy.

I still haven't done anything siocast yet, so I don't have an opinion myself. But I have heard some grumblings about some rather severe mold slippage. Guess I have to get one of the new infinity TAGs to see for myself.

Yes they do. Battlefront, Infinity, Failcast, and others, they all suck. A model with mold lines that cannot be easily cleaned, for a product that requires easy mold line cleaning is simply a fail. Even when initial models are good, companies refuse to update molds as often as required, which results in more mold lines that cannot be removed. Its great if you like low quality for board games, want high quality pieces, not a chance. Battlefront after years of trying are moving away from siocast as it has resulted in slumped sales due to low quality hurting brand image.

we only tried a guest once before... and it did not go well... hehehehe I've been starting to hear about these minis though, I WOULD like to see what people think. Even without seeing the minis, I have no idea how to paint shardplate and shardblades... I'm 4 books in and my brain doesn't comprehend what they're supposed to look like.

@@GoobertownHobbies Shardblades and plate that are dead/ wielded by non-radiants are slate grey naturally, and it seems like they’re only a little bit shiny, at least to me. Radiant blades and plate glow. I’ve been using TMM on radiants and NMM on shardbearers to signify the difference and make the living plate/ blades feel more “alive”

Creature caster has some horrible color names but they do include CMYK on their bottle.

As long as they have the normal paint names on the bottle then it feels like weird names are just for fun, which is fun, but man is it bad when that's all you get!

@PaintBravelyThePodcast there are a few names that make no sense. Kevin, Tainted Snow, Kiss N Tell, Yellowstone, waste management, lovely demon, brush hawk, experiment 626, dusk sky, altered lightning, channel 6, chard remains, darkest depths, catacomb linchin, the crash, mermaids tail, the mountain, and gunpowder djinn. Those are the paints I have. 😆 the cymk marking on the bottle helps though.
