I test the new Aurora Pro under 3/4 moon in color and gray scale. I test them again after the moon has set to simulate a moonless night.

Yeah, I think this video gives more justice to the Aurora Pro than others, but i'm not sure if it worth the additional 200$. Sometimes the "not contrasted" image of the Aurora gives better low light image than the Pro, but the Pro with sufficient light can beat up really hard the definition of the original. Nice to the the improvements, I think the next iteration of the product will bring the real change since the first one.

Hi Bull, so I do Astrophotography and if you are looking to take photos of the night sky the quickest method is a regular camera on a tripod. From there you take a series of photos and stack them using a program called Deep Sky Stacker. To avoid blurry stars, set the shutter speed to 400 / (Focal Length * Sensor Crop) = Exposure Seconds So for 50mm on a APS-C Sensor you’d get 400/(50*1.5) = 5.33 seconds (so round down 5 second exposures). It’s gets more complicated from there but that’s a start. Let me know if you have additional questions.

Hi there. I have the Pro, and am now shopping around for the recommended 940nm flashlight/illuminator; first of all, was that the wavelength of the IR flashlight you were using in the video? If so, what was the mW power of the LED? Again, if it was a 940nm illuminator, what brand & model was it? I am leaning towards a Nightcore C17 but it is 7500mW and there are 10k mW illuminators out there for less, wondering if you could give me your opinion if it would just be a waste of time as it would flood out all the detail, as you mentioned in your video. Any advice & information would be well appreciated. Thanks !!

IQ is considerably improved, you could always bump the exposure compensation up on the Pro if you want it brighter. I think one of the big reasons to get the Pro is they're promising firmware updates to the units (for free) which are going to add AR features. They didn't specifically say aiming reticle (a man can hope) as I suspect that could create ITAR issues, but they mention maritime and sports uses. You also get a nice hard case with the Pro; that said I'm comparing an Aurora Black Vs Pro.
@nolo13373 жыл бұрын
well one could idk plug the device in and make your own firmware and get a reticle and bypass itar :P

That's interesting..!! I am looking at getting either standard or pro for star videography and catching other things up there. You are not finding anything that competes with the Aurora by performance to price ratio?
@EmberSkyMedia4 жыл бұрын
@@CristinaG Price Comparable... no. I have my Z6 which can do it at MAX ISO in video form (kzbin.info/www/bejne/anvPZHqgj9mli5Y) but it's $3000. Gen 2 are similar prices but not as nice, Gen 3 are expensive and often restricted. The Auroras are not restricted so that's nice. I plan to add a wide lens on the front (~x0.43 I think) which should almost double the performance (by increasing the light gathering ability).

LATENCY? Is there a noticeable difference in latency between them at all?
@Solscud0073 жыл бұрын
You won’t see latency difference because you don’t have a frame of reference. The lag is noticed between what your eye sees and what the Aurora shows. Since these videos only show what the Aurora captures you won’t see the lag. Here is how I was able to show Aurora Lag. instagram.com/p/BqzmZ_mnuxb/?

@muttontrash3 жыл бұрын
For night vision “digital” cameras the pixels need to be bigger in order to sense light faster than more pixels. So basically when light is recorded to the program the camera does not need to process harder to detect light. They mentioned that this camera is not for professional filmmaking or photo shoots, I use this for my helmet mounts and piccatiny rail gun for night shoots also for night cameras for better pixels you’re looking at close to 2,000 to 8,000 dollars compared to 800 and 1000
